Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Despite The Carrington being the only oped place for dinner on the night we stayed at Harden, they were very friendly and helpful with my gluten free options. I had a very nice grilled fish, mash and very fresh garden salad and my husband had a lovely chicken parmigiana. We really enjoyed our dinner with glass of wine. I can't say the place is very charming, but it is a very honest country pub with very friendly people. And what was charming - complimentary tea and coffee you could serve yourself.

My family and I came after a long drive and we decided to stop and have a look. We entered and I must say, it does smell strongly of beer... the chairs aren’t the cleanest and the ring of my mum’s class of wine was pretty dirty... there isn’t a clean place to sit and from what I can tell, doesn’t have air conditioning.
Sadly I can’t say that I was particularly happy with being here. Although the people here are nice the service is different.
Sorry.....

The Carrington is a nice old pub in Harden and I stopped to break a long drive. The staff were very friendly and the pub has a nice outdoor beer garden with a great view. A good place for a beer or a feed!

Booked into stay for a weekend but really wish they had photos of the rooms on their web page before we booked them.as soon as we seen the room we had to leave and get our money back .filthy and falling apart ,easily the worst I’ve seen.the whole floor needs knocking down and a well over due total refurb.id feel guilty charging any money to stay in them.we had food before we seen the rooms which was good and the staff were nice people but the whole place is in bad need of renovation.

alougth the meals were a great size, my first occasion I found hair all through my potatoes and chips after telling and showing I was only given a $10 discount off a $30 meal. this transaction in total was over $100. fast forward 4 days same amount of people same big order this time a meal was missed for a child once notices there was no apologies yes we got here before you close open until 2pm means your kitchen is running until 2 when we went to order at 1.30 we were told no vegies because they were about to close this is not what you would expect from a country pub

on a side note I was just abused in front of my 4 children and kicked and banned happy not to come back WORSE SERVICE EVER

I Truck a round a bit and have found the carrington hotel harden a Truck friendly pub. One of very few around these days. You pull up out front park your rig of choice, order a beer and a feed head up for a shower come down to the bar, beers ready and your dinner is not far behind it.
Great menu awesome schnitzel as big as your plate size. Just as awesome, crumbed cutlets. Don’t get me wrong I love a big feed but I have to ask them to go easy on the chips as I don’t like leaving them on the plate and see them go back to the kitchen. And they are big plates if you know what I’m saying.
In short. Great feed ,nice cold beer and a good laugh with the locals. What more could ask for at the end of a big day truckin. Great way to kick of the next day too I recon .....
Cheers,, good job guys.

Having traveled to Harden we found the "Lighthorse" locked up tighter than Pentridge...OK, so we moved on and drove into harden where we noticed signage at the Carrington espousing the daily fare...why not.
My flaxen haired Norse like goddess luncheon partner and self settled into the dining area...nothing flash straight up but then again what would you expect given that the special of the day was listed as 'lamb cutlets' for a whole $12. That was my choice and she opted for the 'caesar salad'...of all things.
After a short period lunch was delivered by an affable type who was happy to engage in light hearted banter. Basically meat and three veg but OMG how good it was. Fresh as and simply delicious not to mention the superbly cooked chipped potato. The salad was a curious contrivance of well mounded cos lettuce with an interesting array of croutons geometrically placed around the plate and topped off with the ubiquitous soft fried egg on top. The flaxen one devoured most with gusto and appreciation leaving a few scraps to taste...how good were the shards of brown bread croutons...the tasty dressing and oh so fresh greens,
Come back for more?...you can back that one in, oh and did I mention that your order entitles you to a half price beverage from the bar...
