Good low cost room, yeah it's not the Hilton but it's comfortable and clean, bed was comfy and great location. Only negative was the pillows and some flaky paint, but this added to the country charm. Would recommend staying here and walk 100m to the pub for a great meal.

Superb. Places like the Gunning Motel bring a smile to your face. Old fashioned 'motel' charm - and such exceptional value. Super clean. Great showers. Comfortable bed. Friendly owners. It's in a great location to grab dinner from the pub on the main street or breakfast at the two excellent cafes. Long may Gunning Motel thrive as a welcoming regional place to relax and rest your head.

If you are a hygienic person then this motel is not for you. Walked in to my room to see lots of slug trails, after working out I couldn’t use the gas or electric heater I turned on the reverse cycle unit. Realising that the unit was going to keep myself and the community awake I turned the unit off. I then climbed into the not so nice bed and eventually got some sleep with the bed bugs.

On a road trip and stayed the night here. Low cost, small..ish, but clean and with everything you need when you only need a bed and a shower, as we ate at the local hotel.Friendly owners, that do all the work, which is always a bonus for us. Real milk for a cuppa. Would stay again.

This was a well priced adequate motel and met our needs as somewhere to lay our heads on trip from Sydney to Melbourne. Very dated motel - However clean and tidy with a reasonable bed! Booked at last minute and lucky to get their last room... quiet spot and easy access on and off freeway.

Only motel in town so this was where we stayed. I booked by phone and asked for 2 adjoining rooms, however the adjoining rooms request was not noted and so when we showed up for our booking they had put us in 2 very separate rooms, which wasn't going to work for our family. They were able to move us to 2 rooms next to each other, but I got the impression those rooms are not used often at all (they were the closest to reception, whereas I think she prefers to put people in the cabins out the back), as the receptionist seemed reluctant to do it and everything inside the room was coated in a fine layer of dust. The rooms weren't particularly clean - cobwebs in the corners, 2 spiders, mould on the ceilings and some smears on some of the walls. Everything felt very dated and old and shabby. The amenities were fine - TV, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge. But I'd rather stay somewhere else next time, if there is a next time I visit Gunning.…

A very tidy and comfortable place to stay. The hotel next door offers wonderful meals and entertainment at the end of a busy day. Explore the many smaller towns nearby. Remember that this region was once the capital of the Marino rural industry

Don’t worry about the streetscape, new cabin-type rooms addd at the back with plenty of space giving a lovely rustic feel. Room had some minor cosmetic blemishes but good value. Peaceful environment, great bed, good shower.

Good motel (only one) right in town.Good nights sleep, comfy bed and pillows and quiet. Walk out the front and you are at the pub and restaurants Motel is showing its age but is clean and tidy and comes at resonable price Great food at the pub next door. good place to break the journey its just off the highway

We were very pleasantly surprised with this motel. So many positives. If you accept that the motel was probably built in the 60’s and isn’t a modern luxury hotel there is a lot of reasons to stay here. - owners are friendly - price is very affordable - such a quiet room, no traffic noise - air conditioning/ heater - comfy bed - great shower - Steak and Schnitzel Restaurant open on the weekend. - in the middle of town so can walk to the pub for dinner. - guest laundry - well appointed with fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, toaster, small TV, toiletries, iron and even wait for it an ironing board It was a really hot day and on the motel sign it indicates they have a pool but that went years ago. Good thing the town public pool is just over the road. Well worth considering a stay.…
