Kimo Estate is a fabulously unique boutique accommodation offering. Take the time to unplug and get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life and simply relax from your long day's travel. We offer three levels of Accommodation. Eco Huts, Workers Cottages and our Shearers Quarters. The Eco Huts sit high on the hill with 360 degree views of their surrounds. This is glamping, but better, all the mod cons and still completely surrounded by nature. They really will blow your mind. One even has a hot tub. Our two self contained workers cottages that have been immaculately renovated but the charm of yesteryear has been retained and respected. Our shearers quarters are an authentic experience staying in cosy private rooms with access to the mess hall, kitchen and wash house. With 2 decks to enjoy the stunning vistas, this is great for groups. All set in one of the most beautiful valleys in the region on a 7000 acre working farm, it's a magical place.

We booked Sweeney’s hut almost a year ago to celebrate our anniversary weekend and we couldn’t be happier with our choice!
We drove from the Central Coast so stayed a night in Bowral to break up the drive and make sure we were at our hut right on check in to make the most of every minute of our booking.
We had lunch at a pub in Gundagai and grabbed supplies at Woolworths before making the short drive to the property. We grabbed a few drinks but next time would make use of the local alcohol selection provided at very reasonable prices!
When we arrived, we had the pleasure of meeting the owners who were showing some people around and made sure we knew the hot tub was ready and that breakfast was in the fridge before leaving us to enjoy the property.
I couldn’t contain my excitement! We knew the view would be great but it far exceeded our expectations!
The wood fire in the hut was already on and the hot tub was the perfect temperature. We jumped right on in and enjoyed it until dark. It’s so easy to use and there is a video on the app explaining how to use it.
There is literally everything you need in this hut - a generous breakfast, board games, firewood, extra blankets, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, coffee, tea, bug spray, you name it they’ve thought of it!
We used the bbq for dinner and enjoyed it at the table next to the hut but in wet weather there is also a small gas cooker you could use inside - and you guessed it, a video on how to use it on the app.
If I was getting married this would absolutely be my choice of venue with cottages and other huts available and Flash Jacks in town recently renovated by the same owners.
I am so glad we booked this property so far in advance, it seems to be more popular than ever now and it’s the perfect winter escape.
It’s 6am and the stars from bed are magical with the crackle of the fire. I can’t wait for first light and to go for a walk around the property before check out.
Life is so fricken short, make sure you stay here at least once in your life, you won’t be disappointed.

My partner and I stayed a night at Fergo's hut on Kimo Estate. It is a perfect stopover to break the journey between Melbourne and Sydney, or just even as a getaway. The log cabin is super comfortable, the tub outside perfect for soaking with a view of the farmland below. It is a glass cabin, but there is absolute privacy as there is no one around the area. The bed faces east, so one is waking up to a gorgeous sunrise. The starry night view is also spectacular, although I would have loved to have a transparent roof so I could have enjoyed the stars from my bed! We went on a hot day, and there wasnt much wind, which was a bummer for some part of the stay. We were a bit worried about keeping the doors open, as we were afraid there could be creepy crawlies nearby, but apart from a lizard and a couple of flies/ wasps, there was nothing to be worried about. On the whole, we loved the experience, although in general, I would recommend coming here in the cooler months of spring / autumn.

The Shearers Quarters provides very comfortable and warm accommodation for a stay at Kimo Estate. Way off the road and set in a beautiful, undulating farming and grazing landscape, Kimo Estate’s Shearers’ Quarters, cottages and the EcoHuts provide a great escape destination. It was great for a mini-break and I’d definitely return. (It’s great to see investment in sustainable, high quality accommodation options in rural NSW settings. This is one of the best).

We stayed in Jan 2020, we were in Fergo's Hut and the kids were in JR's. These huts are fantastic - the owners have equipped them with everything you need, the views are beautiful and the beds are comfy. Tip: bring your own dinner and eat it on the deck watching the sun go down (there is not very much choice in restaurants in Gundagai)

We stayed for a one night stopover on the way North. It was about 40 degrees in Gundagai, so Windies Cottage was extremely hot until the air conditioning units kicked in after a few hours. The cottage was definitely more rustic than the photos suggest - the floor was uneven and creaky, there were large gaps around the doors and we could see sunlight through the floor and tin roof in a few places. I didn’t sleep well as I was worried about snakes and spiders (we had to kill a huge spider shortly after we arrived). The setting was very pretty and the furnishings were lovely, we just weren’t prepared for how old and rustic the cottage was.

Thank you Kimo for a fabulous stay. We booked the Windows cabin and it didn’t disappoint. Perfectly remote and cosy. Listening to the cows was a treat. As a bonus Kimo also welcomed our two dogs, who loved the country sounds and smells and were able to snuggle in their own beds inside the cottage with us. The farm felt a million miles from the city, and is a short 10 minute drive from Gundagai. Magic.

What a remarkable property! We stayed in Windies Cottage for 2 nights and had an absolute ball. It was sooooo relaxing and peaceful. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous and very comfortable. We stopped at Jugiong for lunch on the day of arrival, and drove to Junee the next day for a visit. Great location, and yet we felt we were miles from anywhere. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous property with us.

If you are looking for something away from the maddening crowd then Kimo Estate is it. A working farm with a variety of accommodation including eco huts. We stayed in the tastefully renovated Daley’s Cottage. A full kitchen but you’ll need to self cater (oil, salt/pepper provided).
Bed was comfortable as were the lounges. No TV but the ever changing view and the brilliant night sky was more than enough.
A lovely overnight stay.

We stayed in Windies cottage an appropriate name! AS the porch blew off in an incredible storm! I was happy as so they so badly needed rain. The pictures on their website do not lie the styling and decor is as good as any upmarket hotel! it is a real farm so it feels quintessentially Australian.
we were going to Melbourne and was driving down in a day but decided to stop and spend $$ in a country town. Next time we will stay longer! 1 night did not do it justice.

Great place to switch off and relax. Daleys Cottage is around 100 years old and a formers worker cottage. Three bedroom apartment sleeping 6 in total. Kitchen is well sized with everything you need. No bath in the bathroom but shower had good pressure and ample size. Sit out the back and enjoy a bbq with friends or a gin and tonic out on the verandah as the sunsets.

Yes all linen. There’s a full kitchen with pots and pans and oil, salt and pepper, tea and coffee, milk. Soaps shampoo/conditioner. All the normal things a hotel would and a bit more.
No aircon or fan (it’s off the grid), hut uses cross breezes, desigghn and insulation to cool. Lights however are not dim. There are three different levels of light, keep pulling gently for different levels
There are more places to choose from in the Gundagai area.
