I understand that this is a budget motel, but I still expect the towels and pillow cases to not have stains on them. The bed was comfortable, but the stains on the pillows bothered me. The shower, toilet and sink area all share one floor so the shower water sort of goes everywhere if you’re not proactive about mopping it up. Price was good, but disappointed about the linen.

We just needed somewhere to stay overnight when the days either side were filled with family functions. The room was generous with twin beds. We had a very good nights sleep. There was a convenient key drop so that we could get away quickly in the morning.

The Ibis Budget chain isn't really known for it's luxuries. It's just what it says it is, a budget motel. I've stayed in a couple of them and try to avoid them if possible. They are one step above a backpackers hostile in my opinion. On this particular night I chose to stay at the property in Gosford, it was late, I was exhausted. I drove an extra hour to get there. Then I was told they had overbooked. I was invited to wait for a while to see if they could sort something. Did I mention it was 10:30 at night, and I usually get up at 5am? I went and stayed at another property. As of this writing the Ibis still has not refunded what I paid for my stay.

HOVEL! Smells like a urinal is dirty, stairs no elevator but they don’t tell u that till they have your money! Wouldn’t let my dog sleep here! Do yourself a favour keep driving or sleep in the car it will be cleaner and more comfortable!!!!!!!!!

Dirty and cigarette smells. Paper thin walls and loudly closing doors. Located immediately behind McDonald's which is handy. Bird fecal matter on windows. Small windows. Cheap bedding. No soap in bathroom. On the plus side parking is easy. It's moderately priced.

Receptionist in a bad mood on arrival, not a good intro on 30/5. She gave me a room on floor one which was already occupied, had to go back and get another room on floor 2. Room 211 toilet door sticks. Toilet running water constantly. Rats running around garbage bins in rear of hotel during evening. Breakfast too late for use, ie not open before 7:00AM. Communal fridge a disaster, smells and too full of food, ie not being cared for at all.... Fridge temp maybe too high, potential health problem? Burnt popcorn smell throughout floor one and two on Wed night, 1/6. No food in one of the 1st floor vending machines.

WE were about to check in already at this hotel, but the staff who's in charge at the time we were there, made us wait for almost 10 minutes, SIMPLY BECAUSE SHE WAS TRAINING A NEWBIE STAFF and can't even spare a couple of minutes to process our booking and check in. Fine we let that pass, but to question us if we have an ID to give after my boyfriend gave his credit card for payment, and when we asked what was the ID for, the cocky front desk girl responded to us with a "because you might be using someone else's card."

Unfortunately it is industry best practice to check photo id to verify the booking name, credit card being used and the person checking in all match in order to guarantee payment and hotel security. Unfortunately hotels experience people making bookings with credit cards that have been obtained unlawfully and in order to stop this type of credit card fraud we have implemented these check-in best practices. I hope you can understand by handing over a credit card it doesn't guarantee your identity. We do take our training and check-in best practices seriously with our new employees so they understand the seriousness of each guest transaction. Stayed at plenty of Formule 1's travelling with our local hockey team but the managers of this one put me off staying at any ever again. They were not helpful at all and very rude. We had to wait 30 minutes for them to check us in as they were late turning up and then we were told that one of our four rooms booked was still being cleaned. After a long trip down to Gosford and a hockey game to get to this was very incovenient..
The 24hr emergency button will get you no where.. A door was closed accidently by a 13yo with the key inside the room and the manager refused to come and unlock it as it was 10:30 at night and he wouldn't turn up for "idiots" who locked themselves out. And be aware, they will charge $100 for a call out after hours. We were not even given the chance to pay the money as he refused to answer the intercom. So a mother and her daughter were locked out of the room without money, car keys or phone.
I can not explain how rude these managers were. There really was no need for it. The manager told us the next morning that if we wanted service, we should of stayed somewhere else..
