Have stayed at the Galaxy several times when visiting family in Australia, so obviously rate it very highly. We always manage to get the same upper room which is a good size with comfortable arm chairs. The room overlooks the pool area which has a few sunbeds and there is also a hot tub.
The Galaxy is situates at the rear of the Gosford RSL Club and at present a new club building is being built on the old club car park. The building work which is scheduled for completion March this year has been on going on our last two visits, but has not caused us any inconvenience. Work does not start early morning.
The location is ideal for us as we use the RSLfacilities for meals and drinks in an evening and weekends.
We found all of the Galaxy staff to be extremely polite and friendly with rooms and pool area cleaned to a high standard.
We consider the motel to be excellent value for money and would not consider staying anywhere else when in Gosford.

Great motel within walking distance to all amenities. The room was perfect for a short stay and the staff were excellent and very nice to speak to. They go out of their way to help you. Being affiliated with the RSL, they are only a few steps to great meals at excellent members prices and to try your luck with the meat raffle or pokies. The rooms were in great condition and there was many options for in-room breakfast or dinner. Definitely recommend to anyone as a halfway point between the NSW Northern Coast and NSW Southern Coast or if you are staying for a few nights in West Gosford.

This motel is just off the M1/A1 Pacific Highway and a great location for an overnight stop if you are travelling. It is right next door to the Gosford RSL so good meals are just a 2 minute walk away - very convenient if you are tired after a long drive. We have stayed there several times and always been very comfortable. In March 2022 we stayed again, in Room 18. It is tucked around the corner, so away from the general noise and quite peaceful. However, on this visit we noted that the rooms have become very 'tired", no pun intended! The bottom of the fridge was badly rusted, as were the bases of the bedside lamps. The bathroom door was frayed badly at the bottom and the paint was badly chipped around the bathroom door frame. Not a big deal, but it reflects on the lack of maintenance and upkeep of the motel. In all, I would say it is tired and in need of attention. The room was clean apart from a dark ring around the toilet flusher, which was somewhat off-putting! The staff are friendly and helpful and we will come back in the hope that they lift their game.

old fashioned motel on a property with building works happening. Facilities were fine but nothing special. One asset was a filtered tap for water. Parking tight if you arrive late. Room was hard to cool without freezing the person sleeping closest to the air conditioning unit

On arrival we quickly checked in and left for the day, not returning back to our room until late that night.
On putting our children to bed, we noticed the sheets were dirty.
The following morning we noticed the room hadn't been cleaned prior to our checkin ... floors were filthy, mugs had coffee stains, shavings visible on the bathroom floor, dust covered the entertainment unit, the dining table had food scraps/spills, there were stains from spilt drink on the floor in various spots, dust gathered on the skirting boards and what looked like mucous on the wall.
After complaining to reception, our cleaner arrived and instantly gave me attitude to say she had changed the sheets prior to our arrival. She then said the dust was due to their venue being on the main road and told me to write a list of my issues (which was why my above list was so thorough) - the attitude I received from her was awful.
The following morning I gave my list to reception and offered to take her through my room. I showed her all issues and was offered $20 per guest to spend on dining at the rsl. Following this, the cleaner FINALLY came through and did a thorough clean (which she continued to do for the remainder of our stay).
Whilst this was a nice, modern and spacious room; it felt like we were staying in the managers residence (this room is independent from the Apartments there and directly above reception).
Overall for what we paid, this was a very disappointing stay. Not only did we put up with filthy accommodation for our 1st two nights; we also had countless sleepness nights due to constant noise (and what sounded lkke furniture being dragged around reception - or maybe the staff room?)

Took the family for a three night stay. We found the motel to be in a great location and although it is close to the highway the traffic noise did not bother us. Having the RSL right next door was handy for dinner and complimentary club membership was included if you booked directly with the motel. Other tourist activities were within easy traveling distance, which is great for people like us who really didn't have a plan. The room was modern and clean and staff were very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this motel to other travelers.

This was the last stop on our weeklong driving trip so were hoping for something very nice and we weren’t disappointed. King executive room overlooking the pool. The room was large and nicely furnished. Tea, coffee, biscuits, microwave, wine glasses and plenty of bathroom accessories. Check in was fast and friendly. As this motel is connected to the Gosford RSL we were given a temporary membership for discounted drinks and meals. Although we were on the highway were didn’t hear traffic and slept soundly in the very comfortable bed.

The motel is situated on the Central Coast Motorway which is handy but as our room was close to the road we obviously noticed the noise. Friends staying in rooms 'around the back' didn't have the same experience. The rooms are spacious and very clean.

This was our second stay here and will definitely stay again. Booking is easy. Rooms are spotless. Grounds are tidy. Staff are super friendly. I had special requests (a fan in the room and open windows on arrival). Nothing was too much trouble.
Walk to the RSL and the food there was well priced and delicious.

I don't know how this was rated best value for Gosford or how it is rated 4 star. It is very very noisy, with major intersection and trucks breaking in the wee small hours. it overlooks an ugly car park and is surrounded by industry. On the plus side you can see the river from the balcony on the other side and there is an RSL next door if you like that sort of thing. You can get free membership though the motel which gives you 10 percent discount for meals and drinks, however the meals arent great. I would not recommend.
