We heard about this little camping oasis from friends and thought we'd pop in for 2 nights on our way back home. We were greeted by Jacqui who was very helpful and good for a chat. The "driveway" down to the camping looks daunting but it does have 2 paved wheel tracks so Lockup low gear and just take your time. At the bottom you're met by beautiful green campsites with leafy trees and a firepit on every site. The sites are huge, ours was about 11m wide and about the same deep overlooking the Nowendoc river. While there is no power to the sites you need LPG and battery/solar power. The amenities block has a couple of showers and flushing toilets that while quirky were clean and tidy. Mick came around in the arvos with Firewood for sale and even ice creams if you'd like. Really enjoyed listening to the cows across the river and some of the bird life. A very relaxing time for us. Thanks Mick, Jacqui and George.

What a find! This was recommended to us and I’m glad it was! Beautiful large grassy sites although some a little sloppy. Trailer load of wood $40 (½ trailer $30). Hot showers & flushing toilets - what more could you want!
However …. 1) bring your own water 2) don’t follow (some?) Sat navigation as the entrance appeared earlier than expected!!
Kayaks & canoes on the HIGH river, some fishing, although no fish were harmed over the time we were there. 😂

Beautiful and quiet location. We were self contained so did not rely on available amenities. Dogs permitted which is a bonus for us. That said, would have been better if the grounds were mowed prior to our arrival and that we were advised on booking or checkin that ticks were very active so we could make an informed decision about our dogs and our personal safety.

Beautiful, fairly level, well kept, large sites. Toilet and HOT shower facilities are clean and well-appointed. Just make sure you take a light source to the bathroom block as there are no lights inside. Friendly owners. Each day we were there, they came around selling ice and ice creams! So a beautiful touch! Lots of wildlife, we saw possums, bandicoot, and wallabies! Would love to see some sort of steps down to the river as it was quite slippery and steep to go up/down from campsites. Very little to no phone reception.

A hidden gem. This is our second year spending christmas/new year at this camp ground. Hot showers and toilets cleaned regularly. Plenty of space, direct river access, fantastic owners who are very helpful and great friendly atmosphere. Can't wait to come back next year.

The camp ground was lovely but it was ruined by the attitude of the Host she was very unpleasant and rude. Her daughter booked us in on arrival and she was lovely and welcoming. The Host however, was terrible to deal with. She never introduced herself but just barked instructions. When my husband addressed the way she treated us on check out, and told her that the way she spoke to us was not called for and quite rude her response was "I've heard that before". Due to her we will not be returning and will tell all our friends. I do believe that they are the new owners.

Large sites with firepits for cold nights. Hot showers. The "rapids" are average though kids will enjoy on the warmer months, despite the dead roos and cows in it. Also be ready for "rocky bottoms" when water is low😁The "Kubota crew" are friendly firewood suppliers. Better not to take dogs if you expect an off leash area for them.

Ok so maybe it was the fact they had just had a huge rain dump, the place was so emerald green and really beautiful. Mature trees and a good spread out. The sites are large and set along the river (which was really moving), you could see the potential in quitter times to swim and paddle.
The amenities are 5star for camping this far out of town. Hot showers that were really nice and clean, a reading exchange nook, BBQ facilities. Additionally, you can purchase firewood, ice creams and some general items.
This place has been handed on to several owners over approx. 30 years and it is not atypical of a camping ground, its mature trees and ongoing work is a credit to owners old and new.
About 40min out of Wingham on a fairly good road, caravans were also suitable to pull in. (there is a steepish decent, paved into the grounds, but there were a couple of good size vans that arrived and left whilst we were there).
If you are a person that loves night skies, this was also an added bonus for us.

Love the river tubing. Water was a little low this summer, but would be great after a rain. Nice campsite with facilities. They have planted more trees which will be good for summer camping. Nice deep river to swim in and nice little rapids for kids to play in.

Fabulous camping beside the Nowendoc River. The campsites are huge and all include a great fire pit. Even though it was a busy weekend we never felt crowded. This is a very quite and peaceful camping ground so if you wish to party this is not the place for you. Access to the river is via a little beach and the hosts offer tubes rides down the river. The toilet and showers are fine ,perfect for camping. The hosts Rhonda and John are wonderful making our stay perfect. Rhonda even does a drive around the camp morning and afternoon offering ice creams etc. We will definitely be returning soon !!!!
