We stayed in room 25 which was on the opposite end so it had an additional side window. It was light, airy and spacious compared with what is offered in many other motels. I think it is the room pictured on this site. All rooms appear to have front and rear verandah access. Even though it was closest to the main road, we were not bothered by road noise. The room was clean. The hotel is just out of town, next to the golf club, however, the club did not appear to be open for meals during our two night stay. We were able to walk through its grounds and see some cows in the paddock. There is a nice view of the Bucketts/Buccans from the rear of the hotel site. Unfortunately we had a group of several selfish families staying at the same time as us who made a lot of noise after 9:00pm on both nights with the men talking loudly outside and the children running around and screaming. I spoke nicely to them at 12:30am on the first night and they were polite, but didn’t quieten until 2:30am, even driving their car around until then. The second night I complained to the motel manager at 11:30pm and they were quieter at midnight. In the morning the manager’s wife said that they had had received several complaints and threatened to call the police. These same silly people were also walking on one of the fords on the Road to Gloucester Tops which is very dangerous for other drivers using the river crossing as well as themselves. Apart from this noise, which was not the fault of the manager, it was a nice place to stay. The breakfast menu looked good and was reasonably priced, however, we had our own food. The pool was closed for cleaning during our stay.…
We had 2 families next to us with 5 undisciplined noisy children. They were racing around screaming at 11 pm. Management could not be contacted. The room was good, clean and comfortable. TV only showed 1/2 the listed stations with the dark ones on sound only. No soap in the room
We booked direct for $129 and were very happy with our choice. Staff were very friendly and obliging. The room was very large with a queen and single, table and chairs, and the usual long bench. The room had a very pleasant rural outlook with a sliding door if you wanted to go outside. Room was very clean, bed comfortable, there was a mwo and toaster but no plates, cutlery etc, only mugs for tea and coffee. Bathroom was very clean with good shower pressure. Even though we had room #2 near the front, we didn't hear any road noise at all and slept very well. We had 2 small issues with the door difficult to open, probably from moisture in the air, and they had forgotten to leave 2 bath towels, for which they apologised. That said, we'd definitely stay there again.
The rooms where very clean and tidy and I was impressed that there was a little microwave which would come in handy especially for baby bottles. Location is a little out from town, but the club is right next door and you can grab a good feed there. The rooms where very reasonably priced. The receptionist was rude to my husband about letting the cold air out when he came into the office, we where part of a large group and there was lots of us coming in and out. The yardsman decided to whipper snip right near the pool which made a heap of dust and was noisy, while all their guests where in the pool. I understand that these are things that need doing, but 5 o'clock on a 40 degree day and a Saturday does not seem to be a good time.
we just needed a room for our family for 1 night as a base for some Barrington Tops walks. This no fuss motel fitted our needs perfectly - clean spacious family room, well priced, convenient location and even a pool which the kids were desperate to use but we had no time. The owners were always welcoming and friendly and went out of their way to help us with a few extras that we needed to borrrow. Happy to recommend and stay at again. Thanks
