Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here for 1 night on the 28/7/23. We had booked a superior upstair room with a balcony. Room was very spacious clean, nice bathroom & shower. Room has a microwave which is very convenient. Location is quiet but within 15-20 minute walk to the beach and local shops restaurants. It is also convenient to lack attractions at Kiama & famous Berry. Reception staff are very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay & recommend the hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It's in a quiet spot but still close enough to enjoy the surrounding beach areas in a car. Our room was massive with a relaxing deep spa bath. We had a lovely dinner with a cosy open fire and enjoyed a delicious buffet breakfast with lots to choose from. Thank you to all staff who made our stay so very special and comfortable.

We had a phenomenal stay here for our anniversary! Our room was incredible-it was huge, had a spa bath and a beautiful view of the pool. We recieved complimentary sparkling for our anniversary which was a lovely suprise. The team at dinner and breakfast made us feel welcome (especially Jean). For dinner we had the chicken and steak, both delicious. Highly recommend the Turkish Delight martini. The breakfast buffet had a great range (pancakes, eggs, bacon, english muffins, cereals, pastries and fruit) and included a complimentary barista coffee. Great stay. Thank you!

I booked 2 nights here with a Luxury Escapes package. Staff were very kind and friendly both at check in and out, the restaurant and room cleaning staff . I had a lovely big clean room. I had a very large balcony overlooking the 2nd quieter pool and lovely view of the green hillside. It had a kitchenette and full fridge. Breakfast was nothing fancy but tasty and plentiful. It was included in my package as was 15% off meals in the restaurant. Dinner was incredible both entrée and Main. Happy hour drinks also great value. It was in a great location. 5 mins walk to the beach and the coastal track that goes all the way to Kiama. The main town is a good walk uphill but doable if reasonably fit. Otherwise 2 minutes in a car to restaurants, cafes and boutique shopping. Will definitely keep my eye out for another good deal but longer next time.

Thoroughly enjoyed my two night stay. Reception was courteous and helpful. Easy, parking. Room was spacious, clean, well appointed and quiet with a gorgeous treetop view from the balcony. Full size fridge/freezer was appreciated as was the very comfortable king size bed and bath tub. Room service available plus a lovely restaurant serving breakfast and dinner. Lovely quiet adults pool tucked away and a large central pool for all. Relaxing 1.5 km walking path to the beach and a little less to town. Everything I needed for a couple of days of relaxing and exploring. I will definitely return soon. Thank you for a welcome retreat.

Driving up the entrance to the property gives one a feel of peace and tranquility. The hotel is well appointed with 52 rooms each having very spacious rooms. It has ample parking for house guests. Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool and a lovely restaurant that caters for meals. Fantastic food to be complimented besides very friendly and professional staff on board.

Exceeded expectations all round. Rooms were big (though missing power point by the bed), dinner excellent. Great service all round, especially Gene in the restaurant (who can also make amazing adult cocktails & kids mocktails). Could probably heat the pool and put room rates up.

Beautiful stay at the Mercure Gerringong. 2 pools. One for adults only. Felt like we were in a tropical island. Lots of facilities for fun activities and not far from the Beach. Buffet breakfast was great too. Pool newly cleaned before we had a dip so was grateful for that. Also stayed in an upgraded room. Special thanks to Imogen and Jake at Reception, also the lovely Holly at the restaurant.
