I booked both a 2bedroom and 3 bedroom cabin for a work trip for 5 people, and both cabins were very clean and comfortable. I stayed in the 3 bedroom cabin, and the bed was nice enough. I was grateful that all of the rooms were clean and bug-free. The location was amazing, just a short stroll down to the beach. The Bowlo staff were kind and helpful, and the supplied linen was good quality. The only downside was that the front gate was right next to our cabin, and made quite a bit of noise when it was opening.

The cabins are comfortable, air conditioned, and next door to the bowling club, so easy to get something to eat or go for a drink. Easy walk to the beach. Overall we enjoyed our stay and thought the price was quite reasonable.

Comfy beds, in a good size cabin.
Fresh and clean with good air conditioning and tv reception.
Our mobiles use the Telstra network and reception was excellent.
Walk through gateway to the Bowlo for great Chinese, Pizza and Bistro.
Good prices at the bistro.
We will stay here again .

Stayed one night at the Evans Head bowling club cabins . One night too many . The cabin did not resemble the photos on the internet . Dirty rusty fridge and dinning table , mold on the curtains , cabin smelt of drains. Small and cramped rooms and definitely over priced .

Right next door to the club great location just a gate between the 2.
We stayed in a Hotel room very spacious for the 2 of us.
Clean and quiet for us.
If I had to say something that wasn't great you don't have a parking spot it's first in but that's only for the hotel rooms.

Visited Evans Head and stayed at Bowlo cabins. Very nice looking cabins. Neat and clean. Roomy modern bathroom and room. Very comfortable beds. It wasn't that busy during our stay so nice n quiet.Very friendly staff. Worth the stay. A short stroll to the beach and park. 1min, probably less, to bowls club.

Beautiful location, had high expectations of a delightfully relaxing week away. Arrived 2pm midweek and had to check-in via bowls club ... arrived during busy period and there was no parking near entrance for ease of access to reception. Got to cabin, unloaded cold stuff from esky into fridge and made room in single pantry for remaining food and headed to beach with friends. Got back 4 hours later looking for cold beer and fridge stuff was warmer than when it arrived! Called reception about dud fridge and they wanted me to bring all my fridge stuff over to bowls club to store in their cool room (!!) umm at $250 a night peak rate that’s a no from me. So they found an esky and brought that over with 3 bags ice. Next morning they swapped out the fridge with one that worked. They knew fridge had a problem but didn’t bother to sort before I arrived. Esky had no bung so leaked over floor ... which was fine because it was filthy and needed a mop anyway. Not sure it had even seen a mop inside of the past month. Much like rest of the place - spent the night cleaning all the (smudged grubby hand printed) glasses, still dirty cutlery, grubby/oily pots/pan and lumpy plates because they too were stuck with residue and obviously barely rinsed off, certainly not washed ... and definitely not checked by cleaning staff prior to my arrival for a week. Greasy frypan and tongs/spatula, pot with blackened baked on (probably) milk-based residue (looks like it had just been rinsed out and chucked back in cupboard), what looked like pizza stuck on sharp knife, something stuck on fork, not game to risk the rest of cutlery without washing it, could pick food stuff off plates. Wiped out dirty microwave. Fortunately there was a clean scourer and dishwashing liquid under sink. The people coming in after me will certainly be able to rate the cleanliness higher than I will be.
As for the floor, I’d been there barely a few hours and every barefoot step I took left a footprint mark on oily/dirt-filmed tiles. Had a shower just before going to bed because my feet were blackened from the floor, and I had to wash my feet with cloth again before getting into clean sheets after walking across cabin to my bed, I kid you not. My guess is the carpet is as grubby as the floor we just can’t see it. I took photo of cloth after wiping out microwave, and next to that marking on cloth is the dirt after cleaning my feet (see pic) and the piece de resistance is the towel I used to dry the floor after the maintenance guy mopped it after the esky had leaked and because I pointed out how dirty the floor was ... noted less than 24hrs after cleaners had apparently cleaned cabin after last visitors vacated, a few hours before I arrived. He said cleaners needed to change mop water more often. Ya think? I think they need to actually use the mop in the first place. Is no way it had been mopped, even recently. There was no mop to do it myself. The deck wasn’t cleaned either. At $100 a nite I’d suck it up, shut up and just not come back. At $250 a night I expect much better than what I experienced. The Bowlo (club/restaurant) was always mobbed as u might expect st this time of year. Be warned the food there is very average, bordering on poor. The staff looked a bit shell shocked at the influx of diners as was I by the queue of people complaining. There’s no point filling the joint with tables and people to the point of bursting, including rear non-aircond paved area, if you can’t service the meals or people. All in all the location and scenery is magnificent as are the beaches but I’m leaving early. I won’t be staying at Bowlo cabins ever again. The thumping music late into Fri Sat and Sun nites is too obvious in the cabins. There is no wifi in cabins yet (despite 2016 review response indicating there soon will be) nor cable tv in cabins despite their claims there is. The gate is noisy if you stay in a cabin near it, it’s constantly operating during busy periods. Yes it’s lovely at Evans Head and I’d recommend it as a destination during off peak but there are better places to stay than the Bowlo cabins that’s for sure. Their accessible cabins are well facilitated. Hats off to them for that at least.

Easter weekend. It's surprisingly quiet, close to everything, clean and friendly. Everything is great. It's not cheap, but it's as nice as a good hotel room. We stayed in both the hotel style rooms and the single bedrooms with a kitchen. Both were great. Airconditioner worked well and the rooms kept the noise of the rain and anyone outside out. Stay here. It's great.

We stayed here for one night. Apparently, check-in (and check-out) is at the bowling club, not the cabin grounds.

We had a 'hotel' room instead of a cabin, but it was basically 3 rooms in one lot, perfectly comfortable. Each cabin has its allocated (one) parking lot, so guests staying in the 'hotel' needed to find their own. We were lucky to get one right outside our door.
The room was small but comfortable and clean.

Real quiet too, barely any noise (unless other guests decided it would be fun to let their children play outside at night)

The cabin (and hotel) grounds are only accessible via access card, so it's pretty safe.

NO WIFI!! Don't be fooled by their listing of Chill Cafe as the only place that has wifi in town. You still have to pay to use it.
Bring your own bathroom necessities, what they provide is a joke.

My wife and I stayed at The Bowlo's cabins on default. We stopped into Evans Head to get a unit/house for 5 nights, but all suitable accommodation was taken. The lady booking us in to the cabin was very helpful, and the cabins(located adjacent to the bowling club) were only about 12-18 months old and clean. The site management take a keen interest in the operation of the cabins, and security is good. We enjoyed our 5 night stay.

Off the top of my head about $90/night - about now might be more expensive because of school holidays.
