Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Throughly enjoyed our stay here in a powered site. Nice grassy spot which backed onto local farmland. Amenities were very good showers require 20c for 5 minutes. There is even a
Full size bath available great for families with kids. Also a coffee can across the road some mornings

We camped here overnight. Would only recommend a one or two day stay. The location was good overlooking green paddocks. Close to town. However, that is where it ends. The amenities did the job for a night, but the ladies facilities really need a good spray and clean to get rid of the spiders that are lurking. 20 cents gets you 5 minutes for the female showers. That didn't worry me and I was given coins to use. I rang to see if we could check in slightly before 2pm as we had a new tent that we hadn't put up before and it looked like rain and didn't get a great reception on that. Normally I adhere to the 2pm check it but as it is a camp site, not a room that needs cleaning and we didn't want to get wet putting tent up. Not very accommodating on the early check in front. The place has a lot of gargoyles around the property. Not my thing but interesting to look at. There was a great sunset and a nice bench seat up the back to watch it from. The grass was lush, green and soft, but really compared to other places we have camped they didn't really deliver anything special. The bbq area was clean but old and tired. If you are just after basics and aren't staying long then stay here. The scenery is the biggest bonus at this park and location. Coffee van sets up over the road in the mornings. Noise from trucks woke us up early.

Location to heaps of walks and beautiful rural country scenery.
Amenities are old but clean and well serviced. Sites vary under great old shade trees to open sunny and grassy spots with concrete pads.
However our two night stay ruined by dogs or should I say dog owners with no care for others.
A young dog on a extended lead barked continuously while owner occuping a cabin sat outside nearby.
A large long haired Lab with the deepest woof went non stop. Owners with no cares of other people's quiet.
Busy road with heavy vehicle traffic added to the early morning noise with Shaun the sheep bleeting for the flock.
Caution to owners of pet friendly park's... stricter supervision required.

We had looked forward to this stay, as you could imagine, as like many people we have been isolated since March due to COVID. We expected fairly basic accommodation, as we had read a few reviews. We had obviously missed some of the more accurate reviews. For us, it wasn’t a good choice, we booked and paid for 3 nights but had to leave after 2 mainly due to mould on the walls and the smell of damp together with the very uncomfortable mattress on the plywood bed frame. Apart from several old wooden stools and a couple of very tired plastic ‘school’ type chairs there was nowhere to sit and relax. One of the most telling points regarding the cleanliness of the cabin, from my perspective, was the used razor cover and half used soap bars left in the shower by the previous occupant! In general terms the whole cabin is in desperate need of thorough make over to make it habitable in my view and unfortunately I cannot recommend the establishment at all.

i lasted 2 hours in this cabin, i had to get out. It was shocking, smelt musty and stale, with mould, dust and cobwebs over the walls. the floor was permanently damp and in the cupboard was a large plastic container of Damp rid full of water.. it was like the horror show for me. I don't know how the people that run it can live with themselves letting it out in this condition. I was in the family cabin, i can't really vouch for other cabins but I can imagine they are similar.
I would imagine a health inspection would not pass.
If you suffer from asthma or have allergies to mould and dust i would advise against staying here.

We stayed in one of the cabins and I did not find it in an acceptable condition. It was not particularly good weather but the cabin can only be described as rustic and basic at best. There is no air conditioning only a heater and it was extremely damp inside the cabin. The sheets on the bed were damp. The mattress a foam mattress in vinyl, lumpy and looked liked it had been there since 1970. The plates and cups were just placed on wooden shelves and were not very clean. I had to wash them before use. The plug in the sink did not fit so all the water ran out before I could finish washing them up. The cutlery was not in a covered drawer or container just in a plastic cutlery dish placed on the wooden shelf and was just a whole lot of old cutlery that looked like it had been purchased from the OP Shop along with the crockery. The windows were running with condensation. The whole place needs serious updating as it is just horrible. The Barbecues were dirty and in need of a good clean. The television was on a bracket that was just about to snap. There was nothing to sit on except stools at the lime green laminate breakfast bar. I understand that the owners have only taken over 18 months ago but it was by far the worst place I have ever stayed at and surely they could have changed some things in that time.I had a dreadful nights sleep and could't wait to get out of there. The only thing going for it was the location and the lovely views. r.Sorry but it was a shocker.

I stayed in a cabin for the weekend - the facilities are basic but other than nights, I wasn't spending much time in the cabin so it was plenty for what I needed - the bed was comfy and the shower was hot with great pressure.

The location was fabulous. This place makes a perfect launch pad for the national park, Dangar Falls and all the other local attractions within a very short driving distance.

In all, you're not going to get (and shouldn't expect) 5 star here, but for a quiet, clean spot in a wonderful location its all you could hope for!

Our family of 3 adults and 2 small children, were booked in for 2 nights in Cabin 4. We stayed for 3 hours! During that time, we tried to sound brave, telling ourselves it's only for two nights. The cabin walls were made of plywood and the whole place looked like it hadn't changed at all since the 70s. Everything looked old and dirty. The bed linen looked like it hadn't been changed for decades. The lady on Reception had told us that we could use the Meeting Room where there was a pool table, so we went there. There was a pool table, with pool balls but the cloth on the table had lots of rips and the cues didn't have any tips on them, so we couldnt really play pool. The bookcase was full of old mildewed books that I felt uncomfortable touching. The whole place seems to have been frozen in time is dirty and uncomfortable. Back in the cabin, we sat the kids down for lunch and my granddaughter had a massive Huntsman Spider on her - this wouldn't have been a problem normally- I know we were in the National Park, but we were all then on edge and worried that we'd have spiders on us while we slept. We realised none of us felt comfortable enough to get any sleep in such horrible, dirty surroundings so we scarpered. The lady on reception did not seem at all surprised that we checked out after 3 hours - I guess it happens regularly.
The surroundings are lovely. If you have your own caravan, it would be great. I wouldn't stay in a cabin, though, unless you like musty smells, damp, dirt, spiders and 70s decor.

We only stayed one night in a cabin. It was small and dated, but everything was there. Externally the cabin was clad in weatherboard with a small verandah, internally it was lined with plywood, and was clean. The double bed was reasonably comfortable, the shower was fine, the fridge, microwave, jug, toaster all worked, all the usual kitchen utensils were there, the TV was good. In short, everything was there and clean, just a bit dated.

Great location on top of hill on edge of town. The whole place looks like it has had only basic maintenance for the last 20 years. However, it has its own rustic charm and you can't complain at the price we paid for a powered site. Would be at its best as the weather warms up.
