Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Thank you Richard and Pat, our 2 night stay was wonderful. Such a peaceful setting. The Cottage had everything we would want, such generous breakfast supplies. Very comfortable bed, spacious, clean cottage. Richard is a great host, happy to have a chat. Our place to stay next time we are in Deni. Jim and Dianne

What can one say after other excellent reviews, Richard came out to greet us on arrival, showed us through the cottage, pointed out where every thing was, deserves five stars as other guests have stated there is quite an arrangement of sundries to have for breakfast, unfortunately i did not feel like cooking, we did however have a couple of glasses of port, we defintely will be back again

What a beautiful surprise Cottages on Edward was! A little gem on the river with no noise except for birdsong entertaining from the river gums. There are two cabins - with exceptional attention to detail. Richard and Pat go the extra mile to ensure the stay is enjoyable. The cabin is spacious, with the queen size bed at one end, with a lounge and dining area at the other. A huge bathroom with beautiful white and blue tiles, a spa bath and shower, as well as a lovely champagne and strawberry candle - is easily closed off behind doors, and the full kitchen and mini fridge are big enough should you want to cook up a storm. There is a wood burning fire for winter, the coffee table contains some port, should you wish to drink some, and several books on the history of the area. A TV and CD collection are cleverly hidden away in a cupboard, with the TV easily extended out. Just outside the room, there is a table and chairs to have a morning coffee, and a barbecue area just opposite. Walk down the side of the beautiful house to the river, with a gorgeous sitting area under the trees complete with lanterns for some night ambience. The gardens are magnificent, and are dotted with sculptures and works of art. This place is a piece of paradise - and I will definitely stay there again when I revisit Deni.

Deniliquin is a quaint little town quite close to the border with Victoria on a tributary of the Murray River, the Edward river. The cottages are right on the Edward River. There are two cottages available, well-appointed and comfortable. The owners have gone out their way to make the cottages as attractive as possible. There are lovely little extras like free port. There is a pleasant walk alongside the Edward River which fronts the property. Most pleasant and heartily recommended if you are in this neck of the woods. There’s a pleasant restaurant in the Sportsman’s Arms Hotel within walking distance of the cottages.

Booked 2 nights directly with the owners by phone. By doing this you get a 10% discount. This is a charming property lovingly maintained by the owners. There are 2 cottages on the propety for rent plus the main house used by the owners. Their house overlooks the Edward River. The cottages are joined by 2 carports, so there is plenty of privacy. The garden is well maintained & the bird sounds adds to it all. We were allocated Cottage 2. The whole cottage is beautifully furnished & is extremely clean & well maintained. It consists of a kitchen with everything you need to self cater, should you wish to do so. In any case, included in the tariff is a very generous breakfast hamper of bacon, eggs, juice, cereals, bread plus the homemade type. A cheese platter is also provided & so is a decanter of port. The fridge has a selection of wines & beers & soft drinks, all at a very reasonable cost. This is paid by cash & works on an honour system. Off to the side is the dining & couch area. TV, selection of videos & music. Wifi works well. There is a wood fire set for you & more wood on the front verandah. The air con system works well. The bed area is to the rear. It is very comfortable. The ensuite is a really good size, with a spa bath, walk in shower. Plenty of hot water & towels. The owners, Pat & Richard are very welcoming & are generous hosts. There is not anything extra that we needed & we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. I hope they have room for us when we next travel down this way.

You just can't beat this! As a picky person with most things, this accommodation was just brilliant. The beds were extremely comfortable with beautiful linens and fluffy towels. Our kitchen provided us with everything we ever wanted or needed especially tea leaves and plunger coffee. We even had access to a BBQ. Nothing was amiss. We were lucky enough to ask for another night as we loved it so much. Thank you Pat and Richard for your wonderful hospitality.

Being a bird watcher this place was heaven. There are so many species here in the lovely garden with interesting garden sculptures. You have access down the the Edward River and can fish there and the area is so peaceful. The room was very clean and welcoming and just what we needed after a 6 hour drive. The Kitchen is well equipped and you are spoilt with a complimentary Port and a stocked fridge with a cheese platter. The thoughtful touches are special and we will return I hope all being well. A lovely relaxing place to be.

Have stayed at this seven years ago, and nothing changes, it is still the best accommodation by far anywhere, travelled ten hours and that knowing you will be in luxury real soon. The hosts are the best. With that breakfast pack, even the hungriest guy could pig out here, eggs, four of them, bacon, juice, you name it’s there, and it’s so spotless
