This is a charming property lovingly maintained by the owners. There are 2 cottages on the propety for rent plus the main house used by the owners. Their house overlooks the Edward River.
The cottages are joined by 2 carports, so there is plenty of privacy. The garden is well maintained & the bird sounds adds to it all.
We were allocated Cottage 2. The whole cottage is beautifully furnished & is extremely clean & well maintained.
It consists of a kitchen with everything you need to self cater, should you wish to do so. In any case, included in the tariff is a very generous breakfast hamper of bacon, eggs, juice, cereals, bread plus the homemade type. A cheese platter is also provided & so is a decanter of port.
The fridge has a selection of wines & beers & soft drinks, all at a very reasonable cost. This is paid by cash & works on an honour system.
Off to the side is the dining & couch area. TV, selection of videos & music. Wifi works well. There is a wood fire set for you & more wood on the front verandah. The air con system works well.
The bed area is to the rear. It is very comfortable.
The ensuite is a really good size, with a spa bath, walk in shower. Plenty of hot water & towels.
The owners, Pat & Richard are very welcoming & are generous hosts.
There is not anything extra that we needed & we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. I hope they have room for us when we next travel down this way.
There are two cabins - with exceptional attention to detail. Richard and Pat go the extra mile to ensure the stay is enjoyable. The cabin is spacious, with the queen size bed at one end, with a lounge and dining area at the other. A huge bathroom with beautiful white and blue tiles, a spa bath and shower, as well as a lovely champagne and strawberry candle - is easily closed off behind doors, and the full kitchen and mini fridge are big enough should you want to cook up a storm. There is a wood burning fire for winter, the coffee table contains some port, should you wish to drink some, and several books on the history of the area. A TV and CD collection are cleverly hidden away in a cupboard, with the TV easily extended out. Just outside the room, there is a table and chairs to have a morning coffee, and a barbecue area just opposite. Walk down the side of the beautiful house to the river, with a gorgeous sitting area under the trees complete with lanterns for some night ambience. The gardens are magnificent, and are dotted with sculptures and works of art. This place is a piece of paradise - and I will definitely stay there again when I revisit Deni.
Lovely independent cottage. Exceptionally well appointed and provisioned
Welcoming host and a delightful access to the river. Oh so peaceful.
Just a short drive to the town.
Wi-Fi was available, but failed to connect to the furthest cottage - a not uncommon technical hitch. One solution was to step outside, another was to use one phone.
4.5/5
The cottages are right on the Edward River. There are two cottages available, well-appointed and comfortable. The owners have gone out their way to make the cottages as attractive as possible. There are lovely little extras like free port. There is a pleasant walk alongside the Edward River which fronts the property. Most pleasant and heartily recommended if you are in this neck of the woods.
There’s a pleasant restaurant in the Sportsman’s Arms Hotel within walking distance of the cottages.
