Stayed 3 nights for a friends wedding close by. The rooms were super fresh and clean. The king bed was very very very comfy. The property is beautiful and peaceful with a really nice pool and chill area. The food was extremely delicious. And the staff are a bunch of legends!!! Highly recommend and will certainly be back!

Wording on bookings.com suggested we would have our own bathroom. Also accommodation photos dont match our small room with little privacy. On the positive side, pleasant outdoor environment, staff friendly and room clean. Overall $200 a night is a scam and surfaris retreat should instead be advertised and priced as a youth hostel.

Had a 1 night stay and was pleasantly surprised... it’s not the sort of place we usually stay as we raised the average age of customers by about 30 years , but the recent renovation was really well done, the couple who managed it could not have been more hospitable ... very helpful and professional. Will recommend to our son and daughter . Had a great stay. Coogee Boomers.

Incredible place!! Beautiful and quiet. The room has been renovated. It’s a really good job. I bet it has been done by professional. The staff is just amazing. Friendly, helpful and always smiling. And they have got a dog which is adorable. I recommend this place! Thank you Surfaris. Marvis

... rooms we had been assigned to(#2) was apparently freshly renovated. Surely the bathroom has been done to the green Hardware store standard with the shower screen leaking, leaving a soaked flooring. Blood splatters on the tiles and door jamb made my wife cringe. Door blade seemingly just had been hung with hinge bolts loose and the inside not painted also missing a draft stop( gap 1” under blade). Air con not heating either. The whole room lacks finish, giving you the impression of a “rush”job on a cheap budget. Unable to have just some cheese and crackers as cutlery is a total miss. Bedding felt worn with sleeping “ cradels” either side of the middle, but clean sheets. Worst of all... plenty of people smoking at the entrance only 5m away all evening, it just stinks trough everything. Room is advertised for $150, but have been charged $170. Good luck owners. Won’t se us again. Checked out 7.10am

Response from Surfaris Surf Camp, Owner at Surfaris Retreat

Thats sad to hear about your stay but let’s clear a few things up. 1) to claim that rust marks are blood stains is extremely misleading and downright stupid 2) The brand new air con works fine if you switch from cool to heat 3) The beds are brand new with renovations finishing in July and they are King Koil commercial range with us not holding back on price most customers are actually inquiring about them for purchase. 4) If you book through an agent instead of direct with us of course you will be paying their commissions, and to whinge about it after taking aim at the wrong party is again rather distasteful.
