Recently visited the area to attend a family country funeral. Poplars Motor Inn staff made us feel very welcome, our room was spacious & well appointed and modestly priced for a family on an impromptu visit to this magical area. The staff were friendly, helpful & couldn't have done more to make this rather sad occasion, less stressful. I agree...

Stayed here overnight as the rooms were reasonably priced and fairly quiet despite being near the Newell Highway. The room we had was spacious but the furnishings were rather "tired". Location is not great as it's not within walking distance to shops and eating establishments. We were disappointed to note that there wasn't a microwave oven in the room we...

Thanks for reviewing. The main town centre is only one block away from the motel so, quite easily walking distance to the main eating places. Microwaves are available upon request as stated in our compendiums. We are working on updating our furniture, doing a few rooms a year. Hope to see you again.

Have stayed here before some years ago. We noted that it was good value and had large rooms with plenty of bench space. We also noted that they were getting behind with the up keep. Well it now looks as though they haven't done any upkeep since our last visit. We will be staying elsewhere next time. Disappointed.

Hi, we are sorry you felt this way. We have been doing upkeep, repaving the pool yard this last year and doing some new bathrooms. It is hard to renovate all rooms , but we are slowly getting there.

We could not be more pleased with the family rooms we stayed in at the Poplars Motor Inn. They were spacious and while the ensuite a little dated everything else was first class. In fact, we stay here every time we are passing through for this very reason.

Rooms are very large and clean and tariff is very reasonable. Rooms do need updating, especially the bathrooms. Nice young family running this motel and trying I think to get the needed work done. Would choose a room at the back as the highway can be noisy.

We stopped here in the late arvo hoping for a room. They didnt disappoint. $90 for a family sized room. Clean and comfy although the bed could of been more centred in the room to get in and out. The couch was maybe to big taking up the room. Lovely mature couple on reception standing in for family members who...

My family of four stayed here overnight after a long drive from Broken Hill going through to the Gold Coast. We have travelled this road for many years and decided to try somewhere different. Expected it might be a little dated and it was a touch, but the rooms were big and very comfortable. The room did not have a...

An older hotel. But very clean and comfortable. Reasonable priced room's $80 and $90 a night. The owner's are so lovely and will do anything to make your stay pleasant. It looks to me like work is going on here all the time with new upgrades. Enjoyed our overnight stay very much.

Recently spent one night at the Poplars en route to the Gold Coast. The room we were given was very large & roomy, air-conditioned, TV, fridge & tea/coffee making facilities - all of which you would expect in an Australian Motel. I think there was a swimming pool there, but it was a bit cool for swimming. The fixtures &...
