Stayed for two nights when passing through. Fantastic location to explore the National park and close enough to Coonabarabran too. Sally is the owner and she is delightful- so helpful and friendly. The rooms each had a queen size bed, a single bed and 2 sets of bunks so could sleep 7 people. Room had a private bathroom- shower separate so toilet could be used at same time and still private. Kitchenette had a microwave, fridge and in cupboard was a small oven toaster, kettle etc. fully equipped with cutlery and crockery and even a two seater couch and small dining table (to seat 4). Split system air con/heater in rooms and a tv. There is a small table and chairs out the back overlooking the playground/ trampoline etc. At the park there is a function centre, 3 hole golf course, swimming pool and lots of space for caravans. There is sporting equipment available to borrow- footy, tennis racquets etc. Also laundry facilities available in each block. Our deal included breakfast which was toast, juice, cereal delivered to room the night before (we had early starts), One night we arranged dinner there and Sally cooked for us at reasonable prices. the next night we stopped at the supermarket and had a BBQ onsite. There is an observatory across the road to fill an evening- worth a visit! The motel doesn't have a store so you need to bring your own supplies in. Had a terrific stay!…
I stayed here about 4 years ago and again in September. It appears to have become a bit run down. Rooms are old and basic but roomy and fot lots of people. We enjoyed out stay even though we went for the stars and it rained the whole time. Rooms very clean and tidy
Great place to stay if going to the Warrumbungle National Park. Property was within drive distance to Coonabarabran. Was very Clean and comfortable room would highly recommend. Had a great out look, BBQ and pool
Motel is located on road from Coonabarrabran to NP @ Siding Spring Observatory, about 5-10mins depending on how distracted you are by the awesome land formations. Friendly check-in by Sally who will provide breakfast if you need. Site is set in peaceful environs @ my room, not a unit, was spacious with self-catering essentials @ a small tv which I wasn't expecting. The back units face the forest where you can experience sunrise @ sunrise. No Wi Fi inside the rooms. Recommend this haven @ if you can stay a few days, lucky you!
This place was clean and tidy. A little basic but had everything you needed. The home cooked meals were generous and good country food. The lady who looked after us was fabulous, nothing was a problem. The setting is so much nicer than in town - the open spaces and birds were very peaceful. If you plan to walk in the Warrumbungles, staying here will save you some time getting there each day. Do not forget to look up at the night sky - the only word is awesome. There is a reason they built the Siding Spring observatory just down the road.
