We have dined at this Pub on numerous occasions over the years on our way to Victoria and back up to Queensland. The Pub looked a bit run down back then but the food was always meeting pub food expectations. However last night was by far the worst food we have ever eaten there. Everything is cooked from frozen and nothing is freshly made. We ordered the garlic bread ($7.00) which was actually the best thing out of the whole dinner! One of my kids ordered the pizza ($10) which came with cold soggy chips and burned bread with tons of greasy cheese slapped on top. My other child ordered the fish and chips ($10) which also came along with soggy chips and no dipping sauce. The serves were very small and not only looked unappealing but tasted disgusting too! My husband ordered the spare pork ribs ($28.00) which also came with soggy cold chips and reheated (barely) frozen veggies. As for me, I ordered the veggie stack ($22.00) which was just that... veggies stacked on top of each other and held together with a skewer. Some luke warm suggo sauce had been poured all over it. The sauce hadn't even been cooked, it had just been poured out of a jar. The veggies were a couple of large green capsicum pieces which had been barely chargrilled (not peeled), 2 large mushrooms, a few zucchini slices and a few eggplant slices. This not so devine dining experience set me back $77.00 and I was not happy. Being a hospitality worker myself, I know first hand how tough Covid19 has been and still is for the hospitality and tourism sector and everyone is trying to make a dollar by saving a bit on cost and labour but come on... this is so unfair to the diners who come to support your business. Coonabarabran is a transit town for a lot of tired and hungry travelers, lift your game! I would rather spend my hard earned cash elsewhere!

Absolutely terrible. Waited right in front of the front of staff to ask questions and they completely ignored us. Then after we said excuse me a few times she said they don’t take orders until 6pm which is fine. We ordered our kids pizza front the kids menu as well as our adult food. An hour later our buzzer went off and we thought, finally kids can eat. NO, they buzzed to tell us they didn’t have kids pizza. So we choose another kids meal but by the time that came out our meals, especially my husbands pasta was disgusting. Never again!

Pub and Bristro is nice and the staff are friendly - HOWEVER the accomodation is awful. NOT worth $70, more like $10... Nothing has been cleaned in years, very little security, (doors open to the public straight into accomodation 24/7) no hot water, bed, sheets and pillows dirty, leaking taps, dangerous ceiling fan and SUPER dangerous uncovered fluorescent light just above the bed someone could easily hit with their head. The room had been trashed at some point (tv ripped off wall, windows broken) and put back together lazily. (Pillows blocking broken window above door) Our room was changed at last minute as staff ‘couldn’t find the key’ to our original room. A million old soap bars in the showers.... Stay in an emergency but don’t expect anything other than getting ripped off until they either charge less or look after the hygiene of the place more! (P.S. Junkies screaming on the street next to the room at all hours - not good...)

The staff here are fantastic, so efficient and helpful. We dined here on Monday pizza special night. I had a Supreme which was generously topped and tasty . The rating comes from the $28 “Barra”. It was the worst my wife has ever had. Dry and tasteless and from overseas. The accompanying chips and vegetables were lukewarm at best. Very disappointing.

Large classic character pub in good location in the Main Street. Rooms were okay but noisy overnight with trucks air brakes. Street parking only. Some supplies like toilet paper in short supply. Staff were helpful
