On the main street and close to the river which has a pleasant park, the River Park offered truck [parking opposite so was my choice for a nights stop during the Covid shutdown.
Naturally the restaurant was closed and, though there were some close takeaways, I was a bit over fried foods, luckily there was an Aldi almost next door and the room had microwave, plates, cutlery etc, so I chose a meal from there. Needing to be away very early in the morning I also bought some breakfast things and made use of the supplied jug and toaster.
Question - why do they always supply detergent and a tea towel, but nowhere to put the wet dishes when washing?
The room was clean, the bed comfortable and in better circumstances the adjacent park would have allowed a pleasant walk
Ok for a stop over.

We stayed in Casino for a birthday party and found there were only a few accommodation options. This Motel is okay, fairly standard country town Motel.
The room was pretty small but did have most of the usual items and they all worked (that I tried)
I dropped a star because of the following items - water hammer in the toilet that went off sporadically through-out the night + fridge being located right beside the bed which meant as it came on/off throughout the night it woke me up - really poor decor that could so easily be improved without spending a lot of money.

All other motels were booked out and we were late getting to Casino after a long day's travel - this had a vacancy sign so we decided we would try - looked a bit dicey but we booked in, reasonable price, old basic rooms but very clean, and everything supplied so we had no complaints at all. There could be a bit more maintenance in the grounds i.e. weeds growing everywhere and such, but we would stay there again if we were in the area. All in all, a pleasant stopover.

My 5 month old daughter and I stayed here a few times in the last couple of weeks while we have been homeless. The owners were really understanding of my situation and made us feel welcome from check in time to check out time, the service is incredible the staff is very helpful and kind. The great customer service made us feel very welcomed safe. The rooms were great, cosy and clean everything I needed was there and nothing was too much for them. The parking was good close to the room which was ideal for me while unpacking the car I could watch my daughter from outside. Thank you so much. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend this place. Keep up the great work 😊

We have no trouble making the booking, the cost was fair. On arriving we attempted to go inside to pay etc however they don't allow the public or customers in, due to Covid-19, they never asked if we had been given any Vaccines.
I asked them what time the restaurant opened and about getting breakfast, however they don't provide any food at anytime of the day.
We were in Room 15, it was very good, the A/C and TV wasn't a problem nor was parking.

Room a decent size, nice and clean and quiet. Shower was nice and hot. Service was great and the recommendation for a pub for dinner was spot on and it was an easy walk to town so no need to move the car. The only but i have is no power points beside the bed.

This is the cheapest Hotel, however not that cheap. Casino overall is expensive and I am not sure why. There is nothing much to do.
The room was nice. Comfortable. I arrived in pouring rain so it was good to find a comfortable room.
Very easy going and helpful front desk.

This motel is one of the better ones in Casino. It was refurbished recently. The standard rooms are a bit of a squeeze, but that isn't a real problem when you are travelling for business. Although it is a bit cramped it is quiet and I haven't had trouble sleeping. Brick walls between rooms are a good thing.
The hotel Cecil is a good choice for dinner.
A swim in the Olympic pool across the road is a real treat. There are platypus in the river and a walk in the morning or at dusk is nice but I probably wouldn't do this on my own if I were female.

This hotel is very popular with travelling male workers and it is probably fine for them. I chose the best room in the hotel which did have a balcony and nice view overlooking the park except there was no privacy screen on the balcony so the people in the room next door could look straight in my room! That would be good if you were a family travelling wanting two rooms but very inappropriate for a single female business traveller as is the fact that the predominant guests - travelling male workers - spend hours congregating outside their rooms drinking beer.

I felt sorry for the people running the place as they seem lovely and I feel they knew that a hotel full of drinking male workers, with no onsite restaurant and little quiet or privacy is not going to be popular with solo middle-age female business travellers. The room felt grubby (even though I'm sure they did their best cleaning it), the bathroom smelly and - due to other guests congregated outside their rooms was also really noisy. Unfortunately I do think this is the best place in town!

Response from RPMI, Manager at River Park Motor Inn & Restaurant
Responded 27 Feb 2017
Dear traveller - sorry to hear of your concerns. I would like to stipulate that all guests are to respect the motel and all its guests. Casino is very busy with workers and most of these do appreciate coming home and having a quiet beer - however there are never any partying congregations and we would address the situation immediately. As stated in your review we are a young family and would not allow any drunken behaviour or noise as we have three school aged children. Our workers are up at early hours of the morning therefor all go to bed at reasonable hours (9pm). We have evicted people who were not satisfactory and sometimes this cant be helped but we do our best. Our rooms have all had great feedback both personally and online for the cleanliness. So thankyou for stating we have done our best to clean it. Just as you have a right to quiet they also have rights. We do try our best to keep everyone happy but this is not always the case.

Presented my booking details to desk. Received a long winded and somewhat incoherent rave about how booking agents are sending him broke, how he has a class action against one who owes him thousands of dollars. I mentioned that my company books staff accommodation and I have no say in the use use of said booking agents. This fell on deaf ears as he produced ledgers and bits of paper confirming his sorry story. I sympathise with him, not getting paid is bad. However it was not my fault and would have preferred a welcoming greeting rather than this tirade.
I also chose this place because of the advertised restaurant. I thought I could charge this to my room and avoid dipping in to my pocket. Was told the restaurant was not functioning any more. I ask about about breakfast and he said I would have to pay for it. Another person appeared and looked at my booking document and said I had a fully inclusive booking and that breakfast was included. Mine host glowered, he was starting to break into sweat by now.
I took my key and headed to the room. It was number 9, but could have 6 by the script. The host yelled at me from an upstairs window "Mr Bxxxxx, you are in 9, 6 has a line under it." That would have been useful for the person in 6 but not me.
The room was spacious and clean, with great hot water. The bed was broken. I tried the left side. It had a pronounced slope towards the centre and what felt like a protruding slat got me square in the spine. The right side was better.
Out side my window a pump was running, not intrusive in the day time, but really annoying during the night. I shut all the windows on that side of the unit, with the resulting stale air build up. I think it cut out about midnight so could get out of bed and open a window. A poor sleep ahead of a busy day ahead.
I will be travelling to Casino again, but I won't be staying at The River Motor Inn.
