After there being some confusion with the booking of my friends room in this hostel the staff were very accommodating and helpful to make sure they had a place to stay. My partner and I managed to get our room here and due to the confusion they gave us a family room which was bigger than a double room. The...

The YHA is a great place to stay when passing through Byron. Easy to cook and even easier to make friends. The way they have set it up means you have to talk to people which is great for solo travelers. I wasn't a fan of all the added extras you had to pay. But that's normal in most places....

After a few nice days in this hostel one night at 2.30 am I was sleeping, when 3 drunk Ozzies came into the room, one not even a guest and assaulted me. I fended them off and informed the "night guard", who talked to the manager via phone. The manager decided I get a new empty room and the attackers...

Hi Dave YHA takes guest security really seriously and we are sorry that you had this experience at our hostel. Unfortunately there are sometimes inconsiderate guests. The staff member on duty that night did handle the incident and it was further addressed the following day by the hostel manager.

I was there last April and really enjoyed my stay. The lounge common area is really good as you can do your internet or chat with other people while sitting on comfy couches. And there's plenty of them! I was expecting a crazy party place but it wasn't that bad, there was a good mix of travellers. My room was...

I'm not really a review-writing person, but my friend and I had such a great experience staying here. Everything was appropriately clean and there was enough going on while allowing for good sleep, there were pancakes in the morning and organised yoga and films nights etc. But the staff made it exceptional. Incredibly helpful in organising trips and tours, making...

My friend and I stayed here for two nights and we got upgraded to a private room which we were really happy about! The pool area was our favourite and we really enjoyed just chilling out and having a swim! On our first night we took a guided tour to the lighthouse which was about a two hour walk on...

I enjoyed my stay here a lot, and would stay here again if I came back to Byron Bay. It is very cheap, walking distance to the shops and beach, and I was able to have good nights sleeps as they have strict policies on noise that are enforced, but didn't need to be as everyone seemed considerate of each...

Me and my friend stayed for 4 nights. When we arrived we had to wait for 2 hours for the room to get ready, then we at least expected it to be ready, but there were no sheets at the beds, we had to ask for it the next day. The rooms are okay, but not worth the price.. The...

Hi Amalie We're sorry that you weren't happy at our hostel and that the behaviour of other guests was not considerate. YHA does not permit drug use and the manager would always address that. It was not the actual hostel staff that you had dealings with but some temporary helpers, who have now moved on. We hope it hasn't affected...
