After a rough start in another hostel, this hostel really made my time in Byron great again! It's really fancy/impressive with everything needed (kitchen, toilets etc) and even a pool. The rooms are spacious and beds are not cramped into the room like some hostels do for a dorm room. Lockers big enough for large rucksacks are supplied in each...

I was a bit scared that it would be busy but it wasn't. Overall a good atmosphere. The showers were clean, even the temporary kitchen. Of course, the free wifi sucks, but it had always been like this in all the YHA that I've been to. This place is close to everything. Friendly staff :)

Very close to Woolworths and the centre of the city. It is a well equipped hostel, clean bathrooms and clean kitchen. Bedrooms are very basic, we had a 5 bedroom and it was okay. Outside area is nice with pool and tables to eat. One of the better YHA hostels compared to YHA Sydney Central or YHA Coffs Harbour. Very...

The hostel was very well situated - just a two minute walk to a small shopping centre that had a a Woolworths. In just a five minute walk you are in the centre of town with lots of bars and restaurants. It is very basic as you expect a hostel to be, however, it was extremely clean which surprised me....

Why do hostels still have a smoking section in public areas? The Byron Bay YHA has their smoking section right outside people's rooms, including mine, so I was treated to the smell of smoke the entire time. There is no AC so you can't close the window. It is a public health issue. If you're a smoker, you will love...

Booked a private room here from one night based on a great experience at the Wellington YHA and was pretty underwhelmed. The staff were nice, but the hostel itself is on the grungy and antiquated side and not particularly clean (read bathrooms). Worst for me was my pillow smelt VERY musky and like it had been washed and put away...

As a 17 year old female I stayed in a private room with my friend (also 17 y/o female) for five nights and we have nothing bad to say about the hostel itself, however if you are 17 you miss out on some activities such as nights at their partner club cheeky monkeys. The location was super convenient- right near...

Really well managed hostel with a good-sized kitchen which is kept clean regularly. When we were there (October 2016) they were constructing and expansion of the hostel which started early in the mornings and woke us up - this was the only negative and the reception did give out free ear plugs. Free wifi in the common areas is a...

Hi Jake and Nicoline It's great that you enjoyed your stay with us. Sorry that the building noise disturbed you. As you saw, we are working next door on an exciting new extension of the hostel. When it opens in 2017, we'll have great new rooms and facilities. Meantime, we are trying to minimise inconvenience to guests. Hope to see...
