Detailed Reviews
We booked this hotel as it was one of the cheapest in the area and felt it was great value. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and the room was clean and tidy. It is situated on a busy road so there is some traffic noise but we walked into town and to the beach with no issue.

Awesome staff and great value for money over the Christmas break! Everywhere else was 2 or 3 times more!!
We found Sunseekers staff friendly and accommodating in every way. The pool is fantastic with great deck chairs and umbrellas. Rooms are spacious and clean and surprisingly really quiet inside. It’s about a 15-20min walk to the main strip which was totally fine as you can get an Uber cheap enough if you want to. Highly recommended

My husband and I stayed at The Sunseeker last week of January 2022.
After many months of changing bookings, and re booking it was wonderful to finally be at The Sunseeker. To finally meet the amazing team of Mia, Tilly, Jimmy and the gang (so sorry you were all so kind and friendly and I have forgotten all your names, forgive me) From the minute I entered the reception area I felt at home .Nothing was to much trouble. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms, which was more than comfortable, and the access to the pool perfect, outside the door.
The pool area was for me the highlight, an OASIS, with its surrounding garden and area near by to sit and eat. Cold water on tap and for the little people it was Kiddy heaven, go karts, trampoline and play equipment all there to be played on and enjoyed. Our children live in Byron and now ovoid is behind us (hopefully) we hope to visit very regularly. The Sunseeker is our preferred home away from home.
Thank you look forward to seeing you in March.

Noise noise noise !
What a great renovation to the Sunseeker !
Unfortunately the house next door likes to party into the early hours. Booked for 4 nights stayed 2 and had to check out as both nights I got no sleep.
The assistant manager was helpful but the owners declined with a request for a refund.

Had two nights at the Sunseeker after an recommendation. The motel is styled exceptionally well with the rooms having all the modern conveniences. The issue for me was noise and a little lack of care for the price range. Room 4 is located right next to the housekeeping store room so from 10am the staff talking and moving in and out, it was like they’re in the room with you. The pool is out the other side so you hear chatter from all the guests. On top of that they forgot to service my room so after purposely going out I came back to an unmade room. The second night the neighbourhing house had a party and again the conversations that went till 4am made for an unsettling night. This is of no fault of the motel but ruined my stay.
Good things: close to town and nice staff.

Stunning motel with great service, clean and spacious rooms, and good amenities (e.g. surf boards, electric bikes). The decor is beautiful throughout and the staff went above and beyond during our stay here. We loved every minute.

I had never been to Byron but had heard many great things. Staying at this place really ruined our trip and if it wasn't for the good times we had outside our stay then our trip here would have surely been tainted. I and 3 friends stayed in the 2 bedroom studio. We drove up from Brisbane after finishing work Friday at 5pm and hit a traffic jam on the highway.
We called the manager to let her know we would be late. From that first moment we called, the rude and disrespectful behaviour started, her tone was pushy and not at all polite and she started accusing us of lying saying she couldn’t hear traffic in the background and alleged that we were not in a traffic jam but had stopped off for a drink!
After trying to reason with her to see if she could leave a key out somewhere, which she said no, she called me ‘rude and condescending’ and threatened me saying ‘If I speak to her like that again we won’t be staying there’. After this we realised what we were in for and tried our best to stay calm and get down there asap. On our arrival we were made to feel unwelcome and inconsiderate.
The next morning we were accused of running around that night at an early hour in the pool area and even a nudie run which is impossible as we were so exhausted from our trip down we had gone to bed by midnight!
This followed a series of run ins with the manager, we continued to feel unwelcome, were spoken too and treated like school children on camp, with a grumpy, mean and tactless manager. She was intrusive, poking her head into our rooms and speaking over the top of us when we spoke, then saying we were speaking back when we asked her to reason.
To top it off when we signed out the final day we were told a $300 bond would be held from our account and put back in if everything was fine, this money was only put back into our account OVER A MONTH LATER, after having to ring, give invoice numbers and persistently ask where out money had gone or what the problem was. Of which there was none that’s why our money was given back.
However it’s this type of unprofessional running of a business that made us realise she could have kept the money as it would be our word against hers, that’s the scary thing and I wouldn’t wish what we went through on anyone.
The people who run this place have NO IDEA how to interact with people, let alone holiday makers just wanting to be left in peace! Do yourself a massive favour and avoid this place at all costs!!

The “family suite” that we were given would be suitable if you were of a Lilliputian size, but as we are a family of 4 tall Americans it was overly cozy. As you entered the dark (for a purpose) “suite” the so-called full kitchen consisted of a refrigerator and a microwave. There was only one bedroom that was large enough for one double bed and that was the extent of the room – no closet, no art, just some cobwebs hanging around. The other room consisted of a double bed, which served as the viewing area to watch the TV, as there was only a loveseat as the only other piece of furniture. Fortunately it did not rain too much, as there was no table for dining inside the room, only outside of the door.
I do have to admit that the tropical landscaping around the small outdoor pool was nice and hid for the most part the parking lot.

Totally overpriced for the quality of the room and level of service. The man working at the check out desk was bordering on rude and seemed very unhappy to have to deal with guests. Our room, number 1, was clean but super-basic for the price. It was dark, damp and had very little going for it. For the same price, we stayed in a really nice apartment in Coolangatta so it was such a let down to stay at the Sunseeker Motel when we went to Byron. Would not go again and would only advise people to stay there if they are desperate since finding accommodation in Byron is tricky.

Jan, Thinking a fair walk, thought I saw bicycles for hire at the motel. Also, I would think there’s a bus service. Just my thoughts, hope that helps.
Hi Tony,
Whilst we don't have an option with 2 x single beds, our Studio with Queen and Single and Cottage with Double and Single both have 2 beds in the one room.
These can be viewed on our website.
Kind regards,
Nigel
Hi Barbora,
My apologies for the delay in contacting, I'm just learning about the message service.
We are about 1.5km from the town centre/bus station which is around a 20 minute walk. Public transport is available by the local bus service which is $2.20 per person. If your like me and prefer to make things easy, a taxi is around $8-10.
Kind regards,
Nigel
