We arrived a bit early around 1230 and we’re happily greeted by the receptionist; we didn’t expect to check in early but we were conveniently able to which was fantastic.
The room itself is no fuss and has plenty of space; it had a functional aircon, ceiling fan and general amenities as well as being clean. While there was no housekeeping offered, this was not an issue at all.
The rooms outside often became noisy at night and it is a short walk to the cbd although we preferred this as we often like to be a short distance away from too much action.
Overall, a fantastic stay for the price and location and would happily recommend this motel to those seeking a no-fuss accommodation option in Byron Bay.

The problem was that I arrived at 19:10 and the reception was already closed for the day!!! Everything was securely locked up but there was a message that, in urgent cases, one could call Andy at a given number. My problem was that I only had a smartphone with a European SIM card which didn't work in Australia. Not sure what to do now, i walked across the road to a phone booth to discover to my surprise that national calls within Australia could be made free of charge. So, I was able to contact Andy who told me that they had sent me a message to my account on booking.com telling me that I was booked into a room on the 1st floor. And that my room key was under the mat. Of course, not having access to the WiFi I hadn't picked up on this message.
Anyway, panic over, I made my way to my room. To be honest it was pretty basic. It was large enough for one occupant with one large double bed. There was a small round table with 2 upright chairs. WiFi didn't work for me in the room which was a continuous problem. There were a few electrical sockets, a kettle and some packets of tea, instant coffee and small carton of milk in the fridge. Oh, and the inevitable flat screen telly. There was a separate WC and separate bathroom. Apparently, there was guest access to the beach to the beach, but I didn't use it.
After a trouble-free night, I checked out the next morning by the prescribed 10:00. The lady at the cramped reception area full crammed full of beds, mattresses & bedding was very friendly. And I also bumped into the famous Andy who was chatty enough as he went about his chores. Both seemed relaxed & laid back which is probably the overall spirit of Byron Bay.
After breakfast, which I took elsewhere, I asked at the reception for a pool towel and used the morning to take a dip in the small hotel pool and do some essential catching up on my laptop. At poolside the WiFi worked.
All in all, this was a very basic place, but it met my needs for the one night. Oh, and over at Aldi's I bought a local SIM card to avoid any further problems of connectivity to the rest of the world electronically.

We stayed a night here when travelling north, it is an attractive motel with ground floor and first floor rooms. The upper rooms have a balcony but are accessed by outdoor stairs (with handrail). The rooms are spacious with kettle etc.
They have a strict no party rule and no groups . There is onsite parking and it is walking distance to the town centre.
It was a quiet, clean place to stay.
We got stuck in traffic and were late for check in and communication from the motel was excellent - they contacted me in 3 different ways to ensure I knew about their late check in procedures.

Bed was surprisingly comfortable too!
The pool was also very clean and the perfect temperature to relax in!
The location is fantastic, with it's own beach access and so close to town, we only needed to use the car when leaving Byron.
Staff were friendly and helpful and we were just super happy with our stay here. Would absolutely recommend and would go back in a heartbeat!
