Stayed there 2 nights with G. The place is quite cool with the little lodges that are cute, the water, the seats, etc. There is also a kitchen and laundry place which is quite practical. There are towels available and the bathrooms are ok. However, there is a LOT of noise with all the people making it impossible to sleep...

I've worked at a hostel in Sydney for a year, and stayed at about 30 different hostels whilst traveling ... and this was up there with the best! Cafe, bar, travel shop, pool, laundry, big bathrooms, loads of different types of accomodation options, hammocks, a swamp, a camping ground, a brewery, a club basically, a cinema, a volley ball court,...

I stayed here for 4 nights. 2 nights in a teepee as part of my surf package and 2 nights as part of my east coast package. The teepee area was nice and the teepee was clean and tidy. There is no electric in the teepee but plenty of charge points within the hostel its self. The waterside cabin i...

This place isn't bad for a backpackers. It's not in the heart of Byron, nor right on the beach, but isn't too far away (i.e. is walking distance, just) and there's a regular bus into town. While it is definitely a backpackers, and comes with all you would expect - shared bathrooms, bunks and noise, it does have it's up...

I'd seen some mixed reviews about The Arts Factory before visiting, but the good definitely outweighed the bad therefore my boyfriend and I decided to visit. We stayed in a private double room which was a good size, the artwork on the wall was really nice and gave the room a good feel. Don't be fooled into thinking you have...

If you love the hippy scene and chilling with a guitar by the lake with a joint then this place will suit you to a tee. It wasn't my scene! However my review is based on the accommodation that I paid for.... The rooms are damp and extremely cold. My clothes in the morning felt like they had been left...

Thanks for taking the time to review us Nath. Our hostel is not for everyone. Some advice for future travel, please ask reception to be moved if you are not happy with your room (any where, not just us!) Most accommodation providers will do their best to make sure guests are comfortable. We may have been able too move you...

Me and 3 of my friends stayed here for a week (End of September) on arrival we all agreed this place had a different look to any hostel we had stayed at since being in Australia. We were excited to be out in the forest after being stuck in Sydney for 4 months. Once inside the place is cool looking...

We did 5 nights in the big tee-pee and it was really fun! The other people in the tee-pee were very friendly and nice. I found the bathroom to be just fine too. Bear in mind this place has a serious hippie vibe, which is what we wanted. I wouldn't come looking for a quiet romantic break!! Only downside was...

Dear David, thanks so much for taking the time to write a review. We are so glad you enjoyed your time in the big teepee, it is pretty cool! I hear you about some of the long term campers not being very friendly, be assured I will have a little chat to them, as all our guests are important to...

We stayed at Arts Factory after hearing nothing but good things, so we were super excited for our stay. In the end we left feeling pretty nonplussed. Staff were friendly, but seemed a little obtuse. The vibe was super hippie, which we happily embraced but felt a bit like outsiders the whole time - there were a lot of long...

Dear Katie, thanks for taking the time to write a review. We are planning refurbishment in the near future to improve the rooms, as they are very tired. The bathrooms all get cleaned three times a day, and while they do get messy, they are hygienic & sanitary. And yes we do put a deposit on cups, bowls and blankets...

Bit too 'hippie' for my tastes but still a nice place. Not the cleanest and a little damp but you can tell they put effort into maintaining the place. Not far from town. They make a good attempt at putting stuff on each night and the brewery bar opposite is pretty good. Quite a few bugs about in the bathroom...
