An older building with an interesting history including a time as a Red Cross hospital post WW1. Room was tidy with clean ensuite and usual amenities otherwise. Bed was really comfy. Rooms are not large though adequate with nice sitting areas close to rooms, reminiscent of desirable old world parlour lounges. Restaurant and bar provided great beverage choices (separate quality gin and whiskey bars with substantial choice that would rival some city specialist bars). Meal was excellent and well priced. Close to town and an easy walk. Would stay here again if travelling through area.
The bed was the most comfortable one I've ever been on. The room was spotless. The food in the restaurant was great. We had dinner and buffet breakfast. A great location, too. Very close to town. The hotel itself was very charming. Plenty of things to keep one occupied.
If you are looking to stay in Bowral this hotel is a great choice and I would definitely stay here again when visiting the area. Travelled to the area solo for a bit of 'me' time and chose Berida for the opulent decor and walking distance into Bowral shopping area. There is a large indoor pool, spa and sauna area which I had to myself for an hour. Lots of cosy seating nooks and artworks dotted around the hotel, and the whisky bar, which starts serving at 5, can be used beforehand as a lounge area. Paul the whisky guy makes a mean Rusty Nail, with a smoky whisky. You have to try it. My room was a Classic King room just upstairs from the reception area, and it was beautifully decorated and an average hotel room size. I booked dinner in the Bistro Sociale restaurant and appreciated as a solo diner that I was seated in a quiet nook. The food and cocktails I had there were delicious and I would recommend dining inhouse rather than going elsewhere. All staff members I interacted with either by phone or at the hotel were very friendly and helpful and I was made to feel very welcome. I loved every minute of my stay here.…
We had a lovely overnight stay at this charming hotel with our young kids. We stayed in the Family Suite which is more like two interconnecting rooms, but it was plenty of room for the 5 of us. We enjoyed a swim in the indoor pool which was heated but could have been a bit warmer. Dinner at the Bistro Sociale was beautiful. The atmosphere is lovely, the food delicious and the service so kind and friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel and restaurant.
We stayed three nights, booking two rooms and I must say our expectations were exceeded despite a website depicting what I gleaned was a beautiful boutique Hotel. A thoroughly thoughtful and individual renovation with an elegant nod to the past as well as a contemporary classic feel has been completed along with individual and unique touches which made it feel welcoming and homey. The staff were helpful and professional, going of their way to make sure we felt comfortable. A great indoor pool, gin bar, lovely restaurant and a big fire made our stay fantastic. Will stay again for sure!
Just spent 1 night here & it was excellent. We had room 8 - a deluxe king I think, which was on the 1st floor at the back of the wing. I had specifically asked for a quiet room given some previous reviews about the noise near the whiskey bar. It was perfect. Newly renovated, very comfortable bed, spotless bathroom & quite spacious. Loved the fact you could open the windows. The heaters had been turned off (surprising since the hall heaters were working) but we had a reverse cycle aircon which worked after some help from the lovely, patient Louise at the front reception. What a gem!! All the staff were beyond amazing, actually. What a credit to your hotel. So obliging & helpful. Especially the bartender (sorry can’t remember this young man’s name ) & the wait staff in the bistro. Just delightful. We ate dinner there & the food was delicious - had the eye fillet & the linguine. All v.tasty. The hotel also has a gym, pool & spa. Even though the place was booked out, it didn’t feel like it. My only criticism is the poor wifi. It was incredibly patchy & half the time we had no signal. Would certainly stay here again given 1/2 the chance. Thank you for a restful & enjoyable stay.…
Following two other accommodation experiences during our recent break, arriving at Berida was like having a warm hug. We have stayed here over the years and the recent upgrade is welcome and enhanced its character. Service was excellent as well as friendly. Dinner and the whiskey bar was excellent. Slept well with an open window that we particularly valued (COVID times), bathroom worked well. Berida is our hotel of choice in Bowral. Thank you.
Ignore the pre 2021 negative reviews. The hotel has been renovated and we could not have been happier with our room which was fresh and clean, with stylish charm. The ensuite was updated and clean and most importantly the bed was very comfortable, including the pillows. The reverse A/C was efficient and quiet and the room was warm and cosy (June). The hotel has a lot of character and has been well refurbished. There are sitting areas throughout the walls are decorated with a lots of interesting period pieces art, giving the hotel a warm and inviting character. We had dinner in the restaurant. Again, ignore pre 2001 reviews. Our meal was excellent (try the lamb rump!), the décor was first class and the staff were very friendly and efficient. We have stayed at a number of 4+star properties in and around Bowral and, in our opinion, this is by far the most enjoyable. Highly recommended - we will definitely stay there again.…
Stayed two nights with my wife. All was excellent including room and all facilities. Staff were all helpful and courteous. But WiFi in room 43 did not work for entire stay on two iPhones and oneiPad. I was told on the last morning that WiFi had been a problem for sometime in the vicinity of our room and that the hotel was looking at getting a new router for that area and also that NBN would be connected shortly which might help. I was also told that If I wished I could be connected to the Management’s WiFi system which worked . In my opinion Beria Hotel management should have ensured that the Guests’ WiFi system always worked. If a new router or other WiFi changes were necessary it should have been fixed as a priority.
We haven't been to the Southern Highlands in a long while, and were totally delighted by this boutique hotel. The attention to detail, calling us ahead of time to check if we wanted to make a dinner reservation, letting us know that our room was ready early in case we wanted to check in early made us feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend this lovely hotel.
