Detailed Reviews
Stayed at the motel across the road, so this place was nice and handy for dinner.
Service was great and all staff members had a smile on their face.
Had the Caesar salad with chicken, it tasted good and was of a good size, well priced also. Would Recommend.

We had a delightful lunch in this historic hotel. The pub is well maintained and has a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. The menu includes good pub meals and they are delicious. The service is friendly and ensures you can relax and enjoy your meal

Great burgers with lots of variety. Beef, chicken, lentil just to name a few. A good pub menu with a number of additional specials on the board. Lovely friendly and efficient staff. Prices ok as well. It would probably be a good idea before the lunchtime crowd arrived to spray the tables as the flies were pretty bad. But other than that we had a very enjoyable lunch.

I went without food at my sister's b'day lunch because girl working the bistro was unhelpful and unwilling to ask the chef if he could cater for vegan. Vegan option 1. vege burger deep fried in same oil as fried Chicken. I asked girl if chef could pan fry in other oil or even microwave the patty. Answer. "No!" Option 2. Steamed vegetables of broccoli, beans and Peas. I asked girl if chef could put something on them for a bit of flavour and she looked at me and replied, "No." The kitchen musn't have herbs or spices and the chef must have no imagination.
I could have understood if it had been busy, but the bistro was not busy with approx 4 or 5 tables being used with four or less people at each. I was beginning to think the girl had no other vocabularly until she said, "We are changing the menu soon."
Maybe that means they'll add herbs and food creativity.
Others with me ordered fish and chips w salad and one burger, chips w salad. Salad was just green leaves dumped on the side of the plate. $24 a plate.
I would have been prepared to pay for a tasty basic pasta. Tomatoes, broccoli, beans, onions, herbs & spices. It's not hard!! If you have a meat eater, cook some chicken and add it to their bowl of vege pasta sauce.
The girl behind the bar cleared the table and she was polite and that is why I gave any ranking at all. However, I had taken a stand and had nothing to drink either, as I had decided not to give them any more of my money apart from paying for my mother's meal.
Lazy, couldn't care less staff! Maybe changing some of the staff and the menu would be a better idea.
Once my sister left, I gave my money to a cafe up the road where the staff clearly understood the meaning of hospitality.

The hotel actually looks quite nice and quant from the outside, and the church pews as bench seats are a nice detail. I didn’t feel like a big meal so I ordered the deep fried chicken wings with chipotle ketchup.
Let me tell you that should not be on a menu anywhere. I cannot believe that was served to a customer. There is no way anyone in the kitchen actually tasted that meal before serving it, today or in the past when that monstrosity was created.
And the idea that chipotle would somehow add more flavour to ketchup, to somehow redeem this dish, it didn’t stand a chance. Chipotle and ketchup do nothing for each other. Please change the accompanying sauce to a chipotle mayo if anything. I asked for aioli to add some flavour and it had so much garlic it was also almost inedible.
I thought the batter coating of the chicken may have had some flavour but it had none. In fact it would have been nicer without the drab stuff coating those chicken bits, I can’t even call them wings either really.
Literally the worst meal I’ve ever eaten. I stopped after 4 half eaten bits of chicken and gave up. Waste of my money.

Lovely atmosphere, excellent service with very friendly staff. If you are looking for a good honest pub dinner this is the place! Good selection of wines as well. Although it was very busy( glad we booked!) you did not feel crowded & it wasn’t overly noisy.

Room Tip: I’d definitely book if you could, we were there on a week night & it was very busy

We attended with our dog on a Friday night and it was busy. It was cold outside and my wife enquired twice about moving inside to an the bar area whilst I was heading home to grab jackets. The 2nd staff member who was able to find us a table to the left of the bar area. We finished our dinner and went to the main bar to get another drink where the bar staff member who turns out to be the first staff member who she asked to sit inside proceeded to ignore her and cleaned the bar and served other customers.
When we asked to order he said childishly well you ignored me earlier and you shouldn't have asked another staff member if there were any tables inside, I already told you no and it was our fault that the staff member had sat us inside. We proceeded to walk out as we didn't feel welcome.
Note not really as dog friendly as the claim to be. The seating area inside has 2 tables and some of the staff are childish and rude. We will not return and they missed out our business.

Being local residents we chose to eat here on a Sunday evening so we could enjoy a nice steak & vegetables. However we only had the $39 rump to choose from with coleslaw & smashed roasted potatoes. The meals came & it was disgusting, meat was fatty, potatoes overcooked to the point there was no potato left & coleslaw had no dressing & appeared to be that similar to a dry packet mix from Coles. Our opinion is 1 very lazy chef & a publican that obviously doesn’t care about the quality or menu selection they offer. Definitely do not eat here until something changes. Very overpriced & extremely under delivered.

Found staff to be rude, no customer service. There was a line up to order food, we were not in the way of anyone, until a staff member came over barking orders to move the line in a different direction. The new line was then in the way of others trying to pass through the bistro.
Then I made request for food to be change slightly, was no accommodating at all for these requests, and was told rudely that it was not going to happen. (This was for allergies and was told don't order it at all)
I left and found a lovely cafe up the road....
I would not return to this pub, based on their rude and unfriendly service alone.
