Brendan’s and Haley offer a serene and comfortable escape by the Snowy River. If u are after 5 star then this is not for you!!! The views of the Snowy and the surrounding countryside are amazing. It is a lovely place to visit and unwind.

We have had two stays there over the past month;
Trip 1 as a couple in the summer heat - the cabin felt spacious and the electric fan was saviour. It was serene and we saw platypus, deer and kangaroos.

Trip 2 with 4 adults and 2 teenagers was a bit more cosy but enjoyable in a different way with a canoe adventure on the river before the flood, a campfire and lots of board games. All the while with an amazing view.

Trip 2 when the road in was flooded looked pretty dire for getting home. Our hosts were onto it and eventually we left by the rear fire trial with a little assistance. It was a great adventure that unfortunately not everybody will get.

The cabins are a unique timber design with the amenities and kitchen supplies in each cabin in good order. We’ve taken linen each time we’ve visited. The doonas, pillows and mattresses that are supplied are very comfortable. Recommend you take your own camp chairs for the balcony/campfire.

Yes you do need a 4WD/AWD with ground clearance to get there and after the flood there will be slight change in the access route.

We take all food supplies with the exception of one lunch. Each time we’ve been we’ve gone to the nearby (10min drive) Dalgety Microbrewery/Winery for lunch. Only open 11-5pm. But great bear and fresh tacos.

We booked a large cabin for 3 nights on a bit of a whim. We wanted some peace and quiet and time with our kids, Snowy River Cabins looked like a good option and it was wonderful. Hayley and Brandan were terrific, great hosts and have a truly wonderful property, nice river access and trails throughout the land. Wildlife in abundance.

The cabin was spacious enough for our needs, well equipped and well-appointed with sweeping bush and river views. All that can be heard is the sound of nature.

We cooked on the bush BBQ and sat around the campfire in the evenings, the stars are epic. We had dinner one evening at the Micro Brewery/Vinyard a few k's up the road, great live music, kids played footie and decent food and beer. Took a trip to Thredbo for a day (about an hour's drive) and did the 13k or so summit walk at Mt Kosciusko, it was a clear day and well worth the outing.

Back at the property we fished in the creek, had a refreshing swim and put our feet up. Nobody wanted to leave! Definitely need a 4WD to get there but it's not super hard road as such, just a bit of added clearance required.

We'll be back.

We stayed at the Snowy river cabins on two occasions and enjoyed the experience immensly. The ability to bring our dog with us was a huge plus. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly and there is plenty to do at the property for both adults and kids. The cabins are very cosy and comfartable, very warm in winter. All cabins have great views. The access is definitely 4wd only for the very last part as the river levels can rise quickly. The river was nice to swim in in summer and the sauna was a bonus in winter after a day on the slopes. Can't wait to go back again!

10 of us stayed at this farmstay and it was absolutely amazing! It was such a refreshing experience for all of us after months of covid-19 routine and restrictions. The cabin was neat and had all the bare necessities. The first night we got there we stargazed as the sky was crystal clear. We all enjoyed the bonfire, especially making smores :) We'd definitely come back again for a nature getaway. It was peaceful, quiet and serene. The only thing to keep in mind is that you need a 4WD to get to the property and it's another 30 minutes from Berridale to get to this property. A great experience overall! Thank you Hayley and Brendan!

We stayed here for 3 nights for a little school holiday getaway. Our daughter loved playing by the river, kayaking and seeing all the farm animals. The sauna was a great addition, too if a little neglected. Hayley and Brendan were so friendly and helpful and we loved our stay on the property and the price was right too. It was secluded yet had everything we needed for a great family break. The other wonderful thing was that we were able to take our dog which made it a proper family holiday.

Great cabin to stay for up to six people. Went with the family and had a good time. Tucked away from the cold night wind makes it great to be outside at night and see the stars. Need a 4wd though to get up to the cabin and around the area..

Had the luxury of staying in a cozy cabin for 2 nights with my young family. We went fishing in the pristine river and was lucky enough to show my young girls wombats grazing in the day time and sat around the camp fire at night . The hospitality was super and I totally recommend if your looking for a great weekend getaway with so much to do around the area look no further. We will definitely be back to experience a winter weekend being such a short trip to the ski fields. Cheers Brett

My wife and I stayed here while in the area to do some kayaking. We got in very late at night and were a bit worried about the directions at first, but they proved easy to follow. Brandon, the owner, had our cabin ready and warmed up. It was a really nice place to stay - very comfortable, peaceful, and scenic. The sauna was great to use after a day playing in the cold water. The views are great. It was nice to be greeted by the friendly dogs that live there and to see the other animals. The cabins themselves are very comfortable and cute, and set up in a nice way. The kitchen is small, so you shouldn't expect to cook gourmet meals in it, but it was perfectly serviceable and enjoyable. There are 5 cabins in all, but each is far enough away from the other that it's quite peaceful. It's a bit out of they way, but if you're looking for something out of the way, it's a great place to go. We'll hope to come again.

Answer from Brendanmay81
Hi Prags, The property sits below the snow line so while we do get a few falls throughout winter, it is rare to get snow that stays around - however there will be snow in the National Park where the Ski Fields are. It can rain throughout the year and we have often had rain in August. The Property is 4WD access only. Thanks Brendan

hi. Thredbo was about an hours drive. We didnt make it to thermal pools. Road in to cabins rough dirt roaad but still passable in 2wd. There is a great micro brewery which makes beer and liquor about 5kms from cabins. Have fun Rocky
