Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

PROS: Great quiet location. Walking distance to the main street where there are restaurants, shopping centre and pubs CONS: The bathroom was dirty and it appeared that someone had started cleaning it but did not finish. The shower and the toilet was dirty and there were no towels. Had to go to reception to request this. We arrived a couple of hours after check in time.

Very friendly welcome. The room was of a good size, containing a large comfortable bed, along with table and chairs enabling work to be conducted. The bathroom was the only area where washing items used for eating/drinking could be washed. Cold water pressure was considerable, making for adjustment of hot water (which took some time to arrive) an act of finessing to achieve an acceptable shower temperature. Guests were, however, treated to a wonderful array of complimentary toiletries. Well located close to the main shopping centre.

I want to preface this review noting that I have been a field sales rep for 15 years and have travelled all over regional NSW. I know what to expect when staying at a country motel. This motel is VERY run down. Rusted chairs, rattling air conditioner, restaurant closed down, staff sitting around smoking out the front of the rooms. However the reason for my review is the fact I left with bed bug bites all over my body and when I notified the owner the following day, they basically called me a liar and said I must have had an allergic reaction to something. Such an unprofessional way to deal with a with a customer. Accommodation is sparse in Bega, however, I highly recommend driving a bit further to stay anywhere but here.

Booked into the Bega Downs for an overnight stay after a long day on the road. Tidy rooms, friendly staff and a very peaceful night's sleep. We'd definitely stay here again on our next trip. A quiet town in the evening with a few options to eat out.

The room was larger than we expected. The bathroom was newly renovated, and everything was as expected. The only real trouble we had was with the TV. Reception was intermittent; sometimes we lost the picture, sometimes we sound, and sometimes we lost both. The remote often didn't work, and we had to use the buttons on the side of the TV. But otherwise we were happy with our stay.

Two of us stayed here last Saturday night arriving around 6.45pm. We picked up our key from the lock box having received a code to get the key by an sms message. Reception closes at 6pm. Our room, a twin was very clean,(always a big bonus for me) had a great shower and a spa bath as well as a toaster and tea and coffee and biscuits provided. Also a small microwave oven. the air con was not as good as I would have liked , a bit old and struggled to cool our room down but it was a very humid day and night. The motel is neat and tidy and a few blocks from the main street. Its walkable but it was raining so we drove to find something to eat. The motel is not noisy and parking is outside the door of your unit. Our beds were clean and very comfortable. I would stay again- quite impressed how clean it was . .

We overnighted in Bega at Bega downs and it was a great stay. It has everything we were looking for, good location, wonderfully quiet, spotlessly clean, good shower, nice towels and everything we could have wanted in the large room.

Stayed here for 2 nights in February. Family of 4. The room we had was downstairs and was very large. Room was clean, neat and tidy. Bathroom quite large. The shower was nice with good pressure. Beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly. There is a restaurant on site. We didn’t eat there but the menu looked nice.

Bit confused at the rating of this place; we found it great! The only place out of three places we stayed along the coast with a lovely, big and spacious room for 3 adults, and space to put suitcases so you’re not tripping over stuff. Lovely big bathroom, constant hot water, comfortable beds, effective light-blocking curtains. We had to go & get another mug from reception as there was only 2. Ample parking on the property. Lady at the front desk was friendly. For $150 overnight for 3 people this was excellent value!!! Would stay again.
