We rang the lady and booked our room. We paid with our credit card and soon we’re sent our room number and entry code.
Even though the motel was older it was very clean, tidy and well appointed.
There was a continental breakfast you could purchase and even a well stocked refrigerator.
Sleep quality was excellent and the shower was great.
The motel is located right in town and is next door to the RSL, nice and close for dinner.

Contactless checkin with pincode on doors... budget motel but rooms are surprisingly good; comfy beds, close to all amenities, gas BBQ. Stayed here as Tumut was booked out, and pleasantly rewarded; friendly staff on-site; one minute walk to club and supermarket

Living near CORRYONG and working in Tumut for a few days means I’m staying away from home. Actually drove back to Batlow to stay a second night here from Tumut as the room is great.
It’s clean, comfie and has everything ya need. Batlow like our area has suffered very badly from the fires and covid limited travel. Support small business……. They are the lifeblood of the country.

We paid $140 a night.

Pros
Great position, walk to the clubs, pub and supermarket
Quiet rooms.

Cons
A very modest hotel that is overpriced. I guess the lack of options in Batlow means they can set their own price.

We had a king bed which was 2 beds pushed together, one mattress was 2 inched higher than the other so not very comfortable.
Our room needed a good dust and the bathroom tiles could do with a squirt of bleach.
The lawns needed mowing and the whole motel felt a bit unloved :(

Old motel. Reasonably clean, albeit there was dead bugs on the windows sills. TV was faulty as it rebooted all night. Bed and towels clean, we had a good sleep. We stayed on a Monday; Batlow shuts down so think about a feed before you arrive.

APPLE INN Batlow, seems to have new owners and new managers.

This used to be the Diggers Rest which I stayed at a few years back, when it was in extremely poor condition, run down with spiders webs all over the rooms.

2013 and Apple Inn owners have worked hard to 'out with the old, in with the new'. It's freshly painted, new beds, new linen, clean and sparkling. The managers appear to be locals who are extremely friendly and helpful.

A couple of downsides. They are missing net type curtains to allow the heavy curtains to be opened, with no outsiders looking in. Clock radios are also a necessity. However, I will allow these indescretions, as they are still building on the good work they have done, to turn this place around.

If you travel with food basics, you can make brekkie in your room as crocker/cutlery & toaster are provided in the room. Or you may purchase a brekkie basket from the office.

There are no leftovers from the run down DR. I would definitely suggest the APPLE INN at Batlow.

Hi there! Firstly thank you so much for taking the time to review our property. It is so pleasing to see the great comments about the motel and it is particularly rewarding to hear that our Managers are doing such a wonderful job with our guests. As newcomers to the hospitality industry (and Greg and Judy, as Managers,) we are very keen to receive feedback from our customers. We are all still working hard at fine tuning the rooms and outdoor areas to enable us to further satisfy our visitors and make them feel right at home. You will be pleased to know that we have now installed sheer privacy curtains and clock radios in each of the rooms. So thanks again for your lovely comments and please come and visit us again! Warm regards, Russell and Scott Stevenson Owners Apple Inn Batlow

After a days journey through the picturesque snowy mountains we received a very warm welcome and were very impressed with the most comfortable King bed and fluffy towels.
As expected it was very cold after dark but the Inn is well placed next to the RSL which has a very good Chinese restaurant within so we could walk. The rooms have been refurbished thoughtfully and continue the Apple theme. Batlow is famous for its apples. Our room near the main road side had a delightful closed courtyard running off the room for extra privacy.Continental breakfast baskets are available for $10 at front desk but on the other side to the Inn is an historic cafe with wood fire open every day except Sundays. If only other small towns could boast of such a lovely comfortable and affordable place to stay. It was a good base to then see the lovely countryside and drive via Adelong (v historic Australian Gold town) to reach the Sydney- Melbourne highway. So we agree with the helpful reviews we read before booking.

We needed accommodation for the Batlow Cider Festival. When I rang Greg advised they were fully booked but he would keep my details in case of cancellation. He rang the night before the festival to see if we were still interested so we jumped at the chance and were glad we did. The motel has recently been refurbished. The rooms were extremely clean with beautiful beds and bedding. The reverse cycle aircon was fantastic to warm the room on a freezing afternoon and night. Greg and Judy were great hosts. Nothing was a problem. The RSL club next door was great for dinner. Breakfast on Sunday morning was at Coffee and more. The whole weekend was totally affordable and enjoyable thanks to the wonderful hospitality of the people of Batlow. I would definitely recommend The Apple Inn and hope to make it back for next years festival.

I stayed 2 weeks for work the staff were great. The room was large with a big TV, comfortable bed and quality linen. plenty of parking. Free internet that was good enough for streaming. I needed to do some washing and the laundromat across the road was shut (Sunday). I called reception (diverted to mobile) and asked if there was anywhere else I could go and she offered to come back to the hotel and put on a load for me. That is real service. Location is good. there is a quiet RSL next door with a Chinese restaurant inside with good food. Will stay again.

The owners & managers have done a fabulous job at revamping the inn. You can see the progress of a great interior decorator and the most comfortable beds we've slept in for a long long time.

The managers are very helpful ... with expert advise. The bakery nearby is an excellent place for breakfast and we enjoyed the Chinese at the RSL next door for dinner.

Batlow is a very picturesque town and the APPLE INN is a central part of it.
