Bangalow Guesthouse is an elegant, early 1900s heritage property superbly located in the heart of the fashionable hinterland town of Bangalow. Charming and private, the Guesthouse is just a short walk from Bangalow Town’s thriving café culture, boutiques and hinterland vistas, just a 15-minute drive from the beautiful beaches of Byron Bay, 25 minutes from Ballina airport and 45 minutes from the Gold Coast airport. Combining the charm of a bygone era with sumptuous, modern comforts lends the homestead a luxe Hamptons vibe. Set on manicured one-acre grounds, bordered by Byron Bay Creek, deep green hedgerows and wrap-around balconies, the main house is flanked by three private cottages. The property sleeps 14 and all 7 rooms are unique, boasting fine linens, fluffy robes and ensuite bathrooms with all the mod cons - smart TV with Netflix, DVD player, iPod dock, WiFi, ceiling fan and reverse cycle heating and cooling system.

Positives
+ impeccably clean accommodation
+ allocated parking
+ keyless entry
+ comfortable bed and sheets

Negatives
- very noisy bats. Not so much a bother during the day but very active at night, made it very difficult to get a good nights sleep. (Understandably this is out of the guest house control, but this is something that did negatively impact our experience.)

- no curtain or ability to cover the window on the door, which let so much light in (also making it difficult for a good nights sleep)

Bangalow Guesthouse is a well presented house or cottage stay. Tranquil setting, luxurious rooms. We stayed overnight with friends after a round of golf and a distillery tour and had a wonderful night.Beautifully renovated heritage house and cottages with gorgeous gardens and lawn sloping down to a creek. Spectacular. We would certainly recommend at least a night stay.

The heritage guest house is on large grounds with beautiful gardens.
Bedrooms are large and spacious.
There are 5-6 individual rooms in the main cottage and 3-4 individual studio.

The negative is there is no kettle or coffee service provided inside the room.
Having to go to the common kitchen early in the morning is not acceptable for a guesthouse with this rating or tariff.

It was a lovely Guest house and we enjoyed the garden. However we arrived on Good Friday only to find nobody in attendance at the house. We were not sent a key cod by SMS or Email so could not get into our room. We rang all numbers leaving voice messages to no avail. After 4 hours of waiting for a return call I managed to break into our room through an open window. We were not contacted by anyone until Saturday. Very poor show considering we had flown up from Melbourne and had nowhere else to stay. We payed over $300 a night for the room and I would expect a staff member to greet guests on arrival and show them to their rooms. Would not stay here again as it had a very unfriendly feel.

We have been bowled over by Bangalow Guesthouse. We are staying in Mrs Letaigne’s Cottage and we are loving it. The bed is super soft and comfortable with lovely linen. It has ac and a ceiling fan for comfort. There is plenty of room to spread out, with plenty of storage space. I love the security door which is accessible by code, therefore no keys required. The comfy lounge on the verandah induced me into a Nanna nap while listening to the birds, flying foxes and the odd sheep in the background.....very relaxing! On day two we have already seen water hens, lots of huge monitor lizards, flying foxes, geckos, a brush turkey and unusual pidgeons all on the property. We have enjoyed the verandah up in the main house for drinks and restaurants and cafes are literally a 5 min walk away on the flat. The grounds are beautifully maintained and everything is spotless. The showers are like new with huge shower heads. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending the cottages to anyone. The only suggestion I have is to supply tissues and a can of fly spray as we had to buy some for the mozzies on the balcony. Other than those two small things we can’t fault our stay and would come back again without hesitation.

This is a little gem.
We stayed in Cottage 1, there are two others, all of which stand alone on the property, which has extensive grounds and lovely gardens.
Our cottage had plenty of room with one of the most comfortable superkjng beds we have ever slept in. The bathroom was roomy and beautifully appointed. While lacking a kitchen, the cottage had a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities in a small lounge area. The kitchen in the main house is available to cottage guests, but as we ate out, we didn’t really use this.
It is located an easy flat walk from shops and restaurants, which takes just over 5 minutes.
All in all, this was a lovely place to stay and we highly recommend it.

We have just had 3 nights in one of the cottages. We would like to thank the booking staff for understanding our request to add another night. They immediately gave us the same cottage so we did not need to move during our stay. Thank you. We arrived early and just asked to leave our car in the parking area so we could wonder up the street for lunch. The staff mentioned the room had been cleaned so gave us the key straight away. It is so nice to have such attentive people. We have stayed many times before and will continue to return. A great place to stay, close to cafes and a short drive to Byron Bay and surrounds. A gem! Such a beautiful guest house. For those of us who prefer not to lock themselves up in a hotel room. Quality all round. Character galore. Everything that you would need is available. The gardens are lovely to view as you sit on the surround balcony of the main house. Small cottages are also available. The main house is beautifully set up & a pleasure to be in. Within walking distance of Bangalow township. Thank you & much respect to the owners for their attention to care & detail. We will stay again.

Loved this beautiful cottage. Well equipped with robes and luxurious towels. Beautiful grounds and common spaces, yet right in town. Keyless entry was very efficient. Highly recommend this lovely property. I’d love to stay here again.

Didn't we do welll - $300 a night! OMG
Had booked this well in advance when breakfast was offered on the veranda as a key selling point OMG were we screwed!
Pros
Bed and bedding comfortable.
Cons
This was not a guesthouse per se, this is paying $250+ for a room in a house with random other people and no host, being given vouchers for an $11 breakfast and then having to walk half a mile down the road in the pouring rain every day! REALLY.
WARNING - Lock key in room or forget the door code, totally screwed as there is no out of hours back-up.
Rooms with nice wooden floors, doors with big gaps, unfortunately this meant we could hear all the sounds from other rooms including guests having sex!
Views limited close to a busy main road.
Rooms not really serviced just a girl ( not very friendly) asking if we needed anything!
There was tea and coffee and stale biscuits and could cook but everything has to be cleared away as we noticed when someone had put coffee grounds down the sink and left them the cleaners didn't bother cleaning them!
Oh and just a thought there is no cancellation even booking months in advanced! REALLY
