Detailed Reviews
We checked in on 09 April in the afternoon and FO staff greeted us like a long lost friends. We got the room that we requested in our booking (#101) which was on the ground floor facing the river and it was self contained 1 bed room apartment. Very comfortable, lounge room, dining area, large kitchen, well appointed with large fridge, microwave, dishwasher, stove, coffee/tea making facility, cooking utensils and large pantry. No restaurant was available due to Covid-19 but restaurants nearby hotel were open for take away only. The parking area on the ground and first floor was sufficient. From the back of the hotel and from the parking area, you could go to Woollworth supermarket which was a very short walking distance.
Room servicing was cancelled but we could ask at all time for fresh linen, towels, etc. Due to our length of stay, the GM gave us a very good rate.

We enjoyed our short stay in Ballina and at the Ramada. Lovely room with all you need except a microwave, that would come in handy. The Spa bath is a great addition to the room though we didn't use it. As we entered the room upon arrival we were hit with that freshly cleaned smell. The room itself was sound proof. Evidence being, New Years Eve there was a live band playing downstairs on the road that we had been out enjoying earlier in the evening but once up in our room (on 3rd floor) and eventually closed the glass sliding door we could not hear a thing. Our room had a good view of the water even though it was on the road side. Plenty of nice walks available being on the waters edge, parks, shops and historical buildings all close by. All staff were really friendly and happy. Can highly recommend the Italian Restaurant downstairs for dinner and for breakfast the RSL a lovely walk along the water away (they do buffet brekkies on Sundays apparently) Also, the artists gift shop downstairs has lots of goodies direct from the actual artists and reasonably priced.
For consideration:
**The access area with locked door to get to the two separate rooms/suites locked front doors proved very noisy and quite intrusive. We were only in the room at night after dinner and a walk after each days exploring the town and region. Our neighbours came in and out for hours on end the last 2 nights we were there and could clearly hear their conversations within that space. Awoken by what sounds like someone coming into your own room. Otherwise the room itself was sound proof;
**Our bed wasn't the most comfortable. We both woke with bad backs each morning but in all fairness we're used to an extremely soft highloft mattress;
**The doona had stains and generally looked and smelt dirty.
In saying all of this we do still recommend the Ramada. We didn't bother staff with any of this so that's on us. We realise it is not a new establishment and I am positive it would be very popular. In general it was a lovely place to stay, good facilities with a Pool and gym that we also didn't use on this trip. It is in a great location for families, couples, groups. For pleasant walks, hire a bike or take the kids own bikes/scooters/rollerblades, look through shops, many lovely dining options within walking distance. Plus Ramada has very friendly, helpful staff.

Wow - this place is just fantastic!
The reception team was welcoming and efficient, and helped us on numerous occasions with recommendations on restaurants, advice on family activities and what to do around town.
To add to this we also stayed during the COVID 19 pandemic, albeit when restrictions had eased somewhat, however the resort was clean and safe, with adequate signage, hand sanitisation stations an obvious increased cleaning schedule around the whole site - we felt very safe here!
Facilities are brilliant and the rooms are well appointed with a small kitchen with a cooktop and microwave and good sized fridge - perfect for making the odd breakfast and lunch for the family.
We had a two bedroom suite and the kids stayed in the room opposite, all linked by a small foyer area allowing us (the parents) to have our own space whilst the kids shared their own room, and they just loved it!
Finally, the breathtaking views from our balcony it really doesn’t get much better than this, water, dolphins and fantastic sunsets.
Do yourself a favour and book here next time you are in Ballina, we certainly will be!

We booked and stayed overnight at the Ramada in Ballina, this hotel is well appointed and the rooms overlooking the river were breathtaking.
The restaurant was a nice surprise with tap beer sooooo cold it made it easy to wash our dusty traveller throats away. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel is well positioned within walking distance of most local shops and clubs.
Only negative, our room had a single entry door used for two rooms so the room next door when entering or leaving was quite noisy. Not a major issue just a little noisy if you are having an afternoon nap.
Stay here, enjoy the outlook and rest up your because your next day on the road with be a breeze.

We booked a one week stay and were pleased with everything this hotel has to offer except the Wi-Fi.
Our room was on the 3rd Floor which was a handy location to the pool and we had the best views over the river. A great place to sit and relax and watch the world go by. The river was very busy with all kinds of activity from fishing boats, jet skis, pleasure craft and wind surfing.
The kitchen had everything that we needed by way of plates, cutlery, glasses and coffee cups. Full size fridge so we could visit the local Woolworths and fill it with supplies for the week.
The Wi-Fi was great for Facebook, emails and web browsing. We tried to stream NetFlix and YouTube at night time but it wasn't capable of streaming so I used my phone as a hot spot instead. Thankfully I have loads of data on my plan. I think the hotel offered a better Wi-Fi capability for a fee but best to use my plan data than pay extra.
The staff were always courteous and friendly and nothing seemed to be a bother.
Ample sized car park as we had a car for the last few days. Access was very easy.
The pool was great, it faces north so most of the time it blocked out the southerly winds so it made it pleasant to swim in and also had the sun on the pool for most of the day.
Very handy location to several restaurants. Three right under the building so no need to travel too far. La Cucina and Riva were our faves. The Indian in the next block was also very good.
Handy access to a walking path with access to the North break wall.
We'll certainly be back.

We pre checked in so on arrival just a couple of Q & A s,
picked up our keycard and off to our studio, same as the last times we were here
Thanks to Diana and Rodger who were very helpful booking, and during our stay.
We stayed a week early March so the weather was just ok but our Position, Views,
and friendly Staff made it worthwhile, its been a few years since our last stays
but everything was familiar and the central location was perfect,
The cleanliness of our studio was just like previous stays perfect,
the pool was a delight when the Sun stayed out lazing in comfort on the lounges.
The Laundry is in the vestibule between 2 studios, with clean washing and drying machines and Ironing gear.
A Door shutting noise has always been there was due to sharing a small vestibule with one other studio the doors will slam If you let them
It just takes Simple courtesy and Nouse
to realise the solution
just hold the doors as it closes including your studio door, Or Slam to return Same.
The front Desk staff were always very polite, and helpful,
as were the housekeeping staff as usual.
undercover parking was a breeze i secured a single walled space 6 out of 7 days
for my Sahara, nice safe feeling.
Sunday were were treated to a Picturesque assortment of sailing craft
as they tacked up and back on the River
as Sailors, we had a great vantage point from our balcony
watching as small and larger sailboats fought for the wind advantage
while we ate and drank most of the sunny afternoon
the Perfect ending to our enjoyable week here.
We frequently visited N.Rivers Seafoods. for their Delicious fare,
its still constant and has not disappointed us for many years now,
enjoying seafood on our Balcony really made our.940k round trip worth it.
We visited all our usual places, especially the breakwall,
and RSL club we found the traffic and Parking frustrating
but it shows Ballina is very popular, the locals are still friendly
and greet you while walking. we found the staff in shops also polite, friendly.
We will return again to this Great Resort for the relaxation, service, facilities, position, and friendly locals.

Hello there, This was so lovely to read, thankyou kindly for sharing your experience and insightful feedback. We are delighted you had such a wonderful stay with us and enjoyed those stunning views! I will be sure to pass your thanks onto Diana and Roger and the rest of the team. It sounds like you truly had the perfect Ballina experience. We agree Northern Rivers Seafood is fantastic! The break wall is indeed a beautiful spot to visit. We are also looking to solutions regarding the door sound when it shuts. We hope you had safe travels home and can't wait to welcome you back again soon. We'll look out for that super Sahara! Have a great day. - Anna on behalf of the Ramada Ballina team

Never been a huge fan of Ballina itself however would happily stay at Ramada Hotel & Suites Ballina Byron again. The location next to the river is just perfect and it was so nice to unwind in the peace and quiet after a day spent in the much more manic Byron Bay. Stayed in a Studio Hotel Spa Room which overlooked the river with large balcony to take in the surroundings. The room was of a really good size, had a reasonably comfortable bed and was very clean. The restaurant downstairs in the hotel is wonderful and so glad we went on our second night. The ribs are excellent. Staff are friendly without being overbearing and parking is onsite. With prices much more realistic when compared to those of similar accommodation in Byron Bay, I would really recommend choosing this place instead and enjoying the beautiful short drive up to Byron Bay instead.

I booked this hotel because I wanted a water view and very few places in Ballina seem to offer this. We booked a river view room with balcony. I requested a high floor hoping this would increase our chances of getting a nice view. On check in the receptionists noted we had requested this with an odd tone as though it was an entitled thing to do. We happened to stay during downpour rain. Unfortunately this meant we stayed in the room more than planned and a Riverview would have been appreciated. While the river could be viewed from standing at the window of our room, the only chairs were on the outside balcony in the rain so the only place to sit in the room was on the bed. From the bed the only view was a white wall and a drainpipe. Many other rooms had open river views so it would seem my request led them to give us a less desirable room. The room itself was clean and had a very large bathroom with spa bath, but no space in the room for seating. A convenient laundry was in the foyer/entrance to the room adjoined with the next room. Laundry soap sachet was provided in the room. The restaurant in the lobby had fantastic river views so we enjoyed a lengthy lunch here at a table right by the corner window. The food and service were fantastic here unlike the adjacent hotel

Firstly this is not our first review of the Ramada. But it was a while ago so I feel this is justified.
Our one bed apartment 304 was lovely and well appointed.
Also the check in process was professional and well handled.
We did not eat or drink in the hotel so our review only addresses the apartment and check in and out. Having stopped in multiple hotels on this route this is in the top 1% for location, quality and ease. We will be back...again.

The RAMADA has a pool but no pool side service I am aware of.
Room tip after visting for 14 years: Spend a little bit more and grab a CORNER SUITE. The general suites can be a bit hit and miss. The CORNER SUITES all have excellent views, well worth the extra $ to guarantee you dont fall foul of the lucky dip and get a room with ppor views and little privacy.

Not sure but would be surprised if they didn't.
Hi Greg, thank you for your enquiry. All rooms on level one over look the river. Rooms that over look the pool are called Poolview Suites, and are located on levels 3 to 6. Kind regards Ben D. Hotel Manager.
