Stayed in room 3 (upstairs). Room was comfortable, perhaps a bit on the small side though. Only has a small chair, more for decoration than sitting. Bathroom is large, has no extract fan and a standard corner shower.

Pillows were very soft, we were offered alternatives but preferred to use our own.

Room was clean, bathroom had a dirty stain on the underside of the sink / pedestal which was a bit unsightly. There are a lot of surfaces to dust / clean which obviously is a bit challenging.

There is a guest use kitchen (and dishwasher) which was reasonably well equipped including milk and some breaksfast items.

All rooms have access to the upper balcony which overlooks River Street and is very pleasant. We had out breakfast out on the verandah.

There is also a large lounge / dining table on the ground floor for guest use should you wish.

Parking is generally reverse in roadside parking, and there is plenty of it.

Stayed one night and it was pleasant. Clean, comfortable and self contained. Good location with plenty of parking. Nice touches like a sherry decanter and filtered water. Access was via key code with clear instructions as there was nobody on duty when we arrived after hours

We stayed here for 5 nights in October 2020. We had the Paris and Banff rooms. The rooms were lovely and had wonderful windows letting in the fresh air. The balcony was amazing, sitting there with a breeze watching the kids in the aqua park and waterslides across the road. The fridge and freezer had stopped working but they were onto it straight away. The hosts were amazing and went the extra mile. I would totally recommend this place. Lots of parking (free) and great coffee shops and restaurants near by.

My friend and I stayed one night to pickup friends from the airport. It was such a pleasant surprise that we didn't want to leave. The guest house is I owned and cared for by a wonderful caring couple. You can tell they put their heart and soul into making it perfect. It was so cozy and comfortable. Not to be missed if traveling through Ballina.

Recently spent one night at Riversleigh Guesthouse while in Ballina for family reasons. The room was very clean & spacious with adequate amenities for any length of stay. Inclement weather prohibited the use of the lovely verandah for an afternoon aperitif or early morning cuppa but I’m sure it is a lovely spot to linger with a glass of sherry from the decanter on the sideboard.
The provision of information on the town & region was great and I thought the recommendations of other B&B style properties along what might be the travellers ongoing journey was a nice touch.

Pros:
Clean, comfortable, good hot water, bathroom necessities, communal ‘kitchen’ with Nespresso, tea, biscuits, fresh air.

Cons:
Some street noise from cars & it was a Sunday, would be nice to have a continental breakfast available instead of heading into town. Interaction with guests could be a little more personable.

Overall - some small quibbles but then I do work in the tourism industry & can be picky about what delivers a good experience.

Everything about Riversleigh Guesthouse was excellent. This beautifully restored building is in a great location and is being run by two lovely, eager to please hosts, Martin and Sandi. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the bedding so very comfortable, and breakfast, absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend Riversleigh to anyone who would like to experience that little bit extra, as you will get even more. We will definitely return.

4 couples needed an overnight stay in Ballina to attend a friends funeral. Riversleigh House was just right. It is an inexpensive, very comfortable, charming old guest house, centrally located in Ballina. It is set up for self check-in and is within easy walking distance from restaurants on the river - good for breakfast and dinner.

Stayed one night on a driving trip to Queensland. Lovely building, and lovely rooms. We had a balcony, and a really comfy bed. Large room, and a communal kitchen area on the floor. Had a powercut in the night, which meant the room got very hot, but this was beyond the owners control! Very welcoming, and within walking distance of restaurants. Lots of parking. Downstairs there was a communal sitting room. Very clean, would stay again.

Our bed was comfortable and we loved the ye olde fittings, everything was just right. There is also a great lounge area & balconies to relax and spread out. Fantastic location in Ballina town close to the water, perfect for an overnighter or a few nights. The owners were very welcoming and prompt with enquiries.
