Detailed Reviews

Stayed 2 nights in the King Spa room. Very happy with choice. Most important, it was clean, the bed comfy and quiet. The room was spacious with lots of shelves and nooks to place items. Handy to have a bag rack for larger bag. The fridge had a large enough ice tray that fit 2 small water bottles. This meant that I had frozen bottles to keep my lunch cold for travelling during the day to my next destination. Very handy the microwave. Bring own container if cooking rice, other than shop bought microwave meals. There was decent proper size coffee cups and basic cutlery. Dishwashing liquid supplied. The bed was very comfortable but quite high! The spa bath was a good size. The shower is easy access, no divider to step over. There is liquid soap and shampoo supplied in dispensing bottles which smelled good but bring own soap if prefer bar soap. The towels fluffy. Loved the private garden setting. Unit away from pool which could get noisy when families are swimming. It is a garden with bromeliads so aerogaurd is needed to sit outside. There is flyspray provided. There are flyscreens to patio. Walk to pool delightful. Nice big pool with nice cool temperature. It was unusually hot when I stayed. Aircon nice and cool. Easy walk to beach and a cafe for breakfast. My first time in Ballina as a short break from busy Gold Coast and I would stay here again! People here are relaxed and happy. Thankyou for making my stay a very pleasant one!

I always ask for the same room although all of the rooms are large with high ceilings and views out into the tropical forest of palms and pandanus.
The staff who service the rooms are scrupulous and the sheets and towels are whiter than white. Brad and Ashleigh and Colin who take my bookings are always pleasant and helpful and it is obvious that they love their work and do their best for the guests. This morning Brad made me a fantastic cup of coffee to take with me when I left.
I have been a regular at Ballina Beach Resort since I used to take my sons and their families to stay there when their children were small. The children are now teenagers.
I recommend Ballina Beach Resort - it is close to the beach and the river, and to restaurants in Ballina and Lennox Head and is a quiet and relaxing place to have a break or a longer holiday.

This is the ideal Aussie beach holiday resort, not that fancy but totally comfortable, great grounds and pool, and daybeds by the pool are perfect for my kind of holiday - reading real books by the pool. I book a room with basic kitchenette facilities which is worth it. Spacious, clean and nice staff. Just minutes from Lighthouse Beach, a fabulous white sandy beach with life savers patrol and surf.
Little things like having a bucket of free washing powder for the laundry are very helpful. I probably would suggest changing the light bulbs in vanity area to LED as they are a bit dinghy if you are trying to put on make up. Pool floor needs a bit of attention, and it would be great if the cafe /restaurant restarted. However, suits me very well and I will return. I think I have stayed here 5 years in a row now !!

Our room was spacious, comfortable and in a great location near the pool and not too far from the bbq area. The grounds are kept immaculate and the room was very clean. We will be back to stay. The location is a short walk to the surf club and beach and it's a nice walk along the beach to the rock wall entrance to Richmond River. The staff were very pleasant.

The resort was an idyllic escape, offering a tranquil and inviting atmosphere from the moment we arrived. Nestled in a scenic location, the surroundings were picturesque, with lush greenery and serene views that instantly set a peaceful tone for our stay. The staff were warm, friendly, and always willing to help, making us feel welcome and cared for throughout our visit.
The facilities were great. Everything was well-maintained, clean, and beautifully designed. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The pool area, in particular, was a highlight—sparkling blue waters framed by comfortable loungers, with plenty of shade from the surrounding trees. The ambiance was perfect for unwinding, with the soft sounds of water and birds in the background.
The resort’s garden was equally delightful, a peaceful spot to take in nature and enjoy a morning stroll. Walking through the manicured paths felt like a retreat within a retreat, and it was clear that great care had been taken to maintain the beauty of the space. Overall, it was a perfect blend of comfort and nature, making it a wonderful place to recharge.

Super - loved our stay which was only 1 night! Hope to return for longer! Lovely room - nice and big with a great garden view on ground floor! Nice to get a small container of milk to go with the tea and coffee. Fridge freezer - kettle - toaster and microwave - thoughtful small things like a tea towel and washing up liquid!
Bed very comfy - nice and quiet location
Great swim in pool on arrival and then in bay next morning before checkout!

This is my 4th stay at Ballina Beach Resort, so I obviously like it !! I find it very comfortable, quite spacious really, and I love being able to walk over to Lighthouse Beach or going fir long walks along beach and breakwater to Shaws Bay and into Ballina if the weather is not great for the beach.
The daybeds by the pool are a great spot to read a book.
Staff very friendly and accommodating, loved and appreciated the upgrade they offered me as a repeat customer.
As a solo traveller the room further away from pool was appreciated as pool can get a bit noisy sometimes with lots of kids.
I would happily recommend, not 5 star but very nice 4star. Shame the restaurant/ coffee shop not open again.

Unfortunately first impressions are important, and when we opened the door to our room the first thing we noticed was the musty smell. We had chosen the BBR because it had EV charging. It was not cheap, however we were prepared to pay that for the charging.
It is in a great location and was very quiet.
The unit was quite large, but the layout was a little strange. It had everythig we needed in it, it was clean, and the bed was comfortable, however we felt that it was rather expensive for what we got. Our expectations were perhaps affected by the place we stayed in on the way up the coast - $40 cheaper, much nicer, no smell, and included car charging.
The booking, checking in and out processes were easy and the staff friendly and helpful.
Will probably try somewhere else next time.

Only a short walk to lighthouse beach and a five minute drive to the town centre. Good facilities for those that require them, pool, tennis court, BBQ's Sauna & laundry.
