Reviews summary

Powered by AI

The Ballina Byron Islander Resort and Conference Center comes highly recommended for its spotless environment and the inviting pool area. Rooms are celebrated for their spaciousness and comfort, though there are occasional remarks about inadequate lighting and noise. The staff's exceptional service, including the convenience of free bike hire, garners positive feedback. While the resort's atmosphere is described as serene, opinions on location vary, with accessibility being a point of contention for some guests. The amenities generally satisfy, but critiques of the decor and crockery suggest room for improvement. Lastly, the resort's value proposition receives mixed reactions, as some guests feel additional fees undermine the overall cost-effectiveness.

I was very impressed with our room and stay. We needed a stopover during covid and was very impressed with the cleanliness and safety measures that were put into place to ensure staff and guests were kept safe.
The bed was so comfortable and was quiet even though the resort is located on the Main Street. We will stay here again.

My husband & I stay here often for work. The staff are friendly & always attentive
Rooms are very clean & COVIDSafe. The hot water in the shower is instant & plentiful Beds are comfortable & nicely presented. In room iron & board, hair dryer, Fridge, kettle, toasters & even microwaves in most rooms we have stayed in
Room service is prompt & timely which helps us make our work commitments on time 😊
Love Jason the Chefs work. He is a quiet, polite man who when can takes the time to meet his customers & asks if Everything was ok
Shickma & Kristina are very professional & down to earth both on the front desk & in the restaurant
It has been to cold to enjoy the pool but it looks inviting
This is a resort by name not by nature. If you are thinking of on the beach & palm trees you maybe disappointed but if you are looking for comfort, cleanliness, good food, service, easy access to what Ballina has to offer & value for money then definitely here you will not be disappointed
Only criticism is some of the towel racks are placed too close to the toilets But hey that’s just me not a biggy as there are always ways around it

Very much enjoyed Thank you

Kris & Tony 👍🏼 😎

Stayed for 3 nights and had 3 blissful nights sleep. The bed was so soft and inviting - that sold it for me !!!!!

Stayed in an “Executive Queen” room. Good sized room, bed, table/chairs, lounge, air cond, writing desk and good sized tv. Separate area for washing, tea and coffee with the shower & toilet separate again so when more than 1 in the room there’s plenty of room.

Water pressure good and retained the heat, very clean and modern feel and good quality coffee/tea and toiletries.

Well priced and worth it.

Some general info - they have standard normal motel style rooms, onsite dining & limited room service, pool and bikes for riding around. Also motel not in the center of town (about 5 mins in the car) so was nice and quiet

I’d certainly stay here again in staying in ballina !!

Very convenient location for a stop over. The room was quiet and clean and looked out to the pool and gardens. Parking was just outside the unit. The room had a large area to put toiletries near the bathroom mirror. Staff were very helpful and polite. Enjoyed a meal in the restaurant, quick and friendly service. A very pleasant stay.

We asked for a room with a two seater lounge as we had seen some in there promotion photo's, upon arrival we were told youv'e been upgraded to a better room, we thought this is OK and proceeded to our 'UPDATED" room, it was just DATED, old room in bad need of some money thrown at it, the carpet was good, tiny bath/shower with very ordinary water pressure. Airconditioner looked like it might fall off the wall and had sticky tape on it to stop the cover vibrating i assume. The fresh milk supplied was in an old juice bottle with a huge piece of glad wrap for a lid, and it wasn't even full so you weren't sure if someone had already used some earlier, this is not 4 star. There was also a dirty plate in the microwave, $125 for that room was a joke, ive stayed next door at the "Fun n Sun Motel" for $110 and had a much better experience.

I am so sorry your room did not meet your expectations, fortunately most of our guests do enjoy our rooms and facilities - luckily or we would be out of business. We do have accurate photos of each room type on all booking sites and you will have seen all our 4 star Executive Queen and Premium King rooms have lounges. You booked a Standard 3 1/2 star room.

Good resort stayed in no 9, Q + S , with ensuite and microwave. Only issue shower bath , shower water will spill over glass door on to floor dont wear socks at night here. And sizable tv only had HD channels so full HD channels cant be seen.like 7flix, 9gem and 7mate but foxtel channels were varied some movie ,some doco, fox8, lifestyle and fox sports. Due 2 covid concerns didnt use the pool, dipped a finger in the salt pool it should be cold enough for hot days. Plenty of parking, free bikes for hire but they are falling to bits the saddles might be loose or the handlebars loose, gears could be broken, easy to ride bike only 4 available, hopefully more bikes will be purchased with Mens types avail soon. Friendly managers and helpful cleaning staff attended to our concerns. Fast internet wifi avail, conference facilities close to pac mwy. There is a tavern, fish n chips shops near by, chemist, spar supermarket, news agent, butcher, discount dollar store, good guys electrical store, bunnings hardware, the big prawn, auto barn store, and if you ever want to buy a car Subaru, Mitsubishi and Toyota new car dealerships within walking distance. West ballina is probably the poorer part of balllina riding the hired bike opened up my eyes to the government housing going towards ballina cbd on River st its also an area popular with funeral homes. Let that not be hinderance to your stay here you want notice too much. Also River st can be a highway at times so annoying you want to cross but the cars slow or fasten up and supposid gaps between the next car become less so you might miss your chance to cross the road there are no traffic lights until you hit ballina rsl so the cars on river st are not slowed down by the round abouts at bunnings and the good guys corner locations. Will come again

Stayed 2 nights, and after 1st day of being out and about, we came back to unmade beds, unwashed glasses/ cups and unchanged towels.
If guests are required to wash their own cups/ glasses, please provide washing liquid and utensils. If we need to make our beds, tell us they're not serviced.
Tea & coffee making supplies not replenished either.....

We were staying there to attend my Dad's funeral, and this was a downer.

Pretty disappointed to be honest.

Responded 21 May 2021
Good afternoon M1902KIsophiec. Until May we had COVID procedures in place to minimise risk to guests and staff. Part of the procedures, as described in the laminated sheet beside the basin, was servicing rooms every 3 days. However, if guests required more supplies, or clean crockery during their visit, all they had to do was ask. Since May, having not had a COVID case for over 12 months we relaxed our procedures a little to return to our pre-COVID days of daily servicing of our rooms.

Location: convenient, on the main road at the west end of Ballina. The room was clean, large and very well equipped. The free wifi was strong and required a password, so it was more secure than some. Good price. We stayed there overnight twice in February 2020.

We stayed here approx 12 months ago and enjoyed our stay so came again.
The hosts, Diane and Nick are wonderful and have done an amazing job here - the dining room and bar area have been totally transformed. It's much 'warmer, fresher decor, and more modern (including one off pieces of unique artwork - not often found at this style motel) and makes you enjoy dining here. our room was great, big comfy bed, shower with multiple settings, and the little but imp things taken care of - plastic wraps on remotes, extra hand sanitiser and gloves and everything super clean. All in all a wonderful stay.

We stayed overnight in the executive family room and found it to be spotlessly clean and comfortable. The owners have made the effort to add thoughtful touches like nice toiletries, pod coffee and even a chocolate on the bed. The kids loved the pool and outside spa(again spotlessly clean) whilst I loved the spa in the room. I highly recommend this resort and look forward to staying again soon.
