Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here for 3 nights with my family in a 2 bedroom villa. Staff were very friendly. Hotel was located in bushland with a 5 minute drive to the beach. The pool was nice. The pub was good with nice atmosphere and average food. However, the room was very outdated. As soon as you walk in you could smell the mould from the room and there was an awful smell coming out of the toilet throughout our stay. The lounge was very dirty, so were the blankets. You could smell the dust in the room from the outdated carpets and lounge, as my kids with dust allergies didn't stop sneezing throughout our stay so we had to leave the room all day and come back at night. The drawers in the room were broken. The shower door was broken and was held with a rubber band. My whole family was very disappointed with the unhygienic state of the villa, however, the linen and towels were clean and washed. Hotel really needs a major update of their villas. Was very disappointed with our stay.

Thanks for your feedback Rola, we are in the process of renovating our 15 acre property. We appreciate your feedback and it is a shame we did not have the opportunity to address your concerns during your stay. We would recommend either a Deluxe room or a Terrace for your next stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay rooms are clean and tidy and service is friendly and welcoming. The resort is out of the hustle and wolf town but still close enough to the beach. We would recommend the resort and when staying on the coast it is our preference.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom terrace, the terrace was clean but dated and smelt musty that took about a day to leave once we opened a few doors and windows. The driveway to get to the terrace was very steep and would do with some signs indicating where each accommodation was (we were given directions and a map on our arrival but coming back at night in the dark it can be hard to find your way around).
It is a great location only a 5 minute drive to the beach and local shops. It is lovely being surrounded by all the trees and to hear and see kookaburras daily plus seeing the bush turkey roaming around.
We will definitely stay here again as it is great value.

Thanks for your review and feedback Leonie, Our 15 acre property is nestled into the hillside and that does present some challenges with terrain. We appreciate your feedback based on signage and shall certainly investigate this further. We are pleased that you enjoyed our tranquil surrounds, proximity to the beach and value. We look forward to welcoming you back when you next return.

Stayed for 2 nights in a garden view room . The room was fine. It was spacious and clean. Beds comfy with modern crisp white linen. The room has big windows and a door which opens out onto a sitting area with lots of greenery so didn’t feel enclosed in at all. We ate at the Saltwater bistro attached to the hotel both nights and meals, drinks, service was really good. Lots of parking available too. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Unfortunately the Villa smelled bad. I suggest that carpeting removal could do the trick and enhance the overall appearance and well-being of its customers who will gladly return.
We found a cockroach crawling on our bedroom walls and to top it up the mattress was poor.

If you're spending 220 aud a night it's expected to reward us with great accommodation.

There's really no excuse for such inconveniences at such an outstanding wildlife location. In comparison, the reviews limited to my airbnb private room or sleeping on board, my guests leave me notes of gratitude. It's all about attention to detail, hard work and passion!
Good luck!

We recently booked to stay in a two bedroom villa. Upon arrival the receptionist was pleasant, and showed me via map where our villa was. We went to the villa, opened the door, and the stench hit us from there. We pondered for about 1 hour, searched Trip Advisor (which I wish we had done before booking) and realised we are not the only ones to have this experience. It was okay that the rooms are outdated. I knew that from photos, but the stench was unbearable. The carpets thread bare, and the lighting so dim that you really couldn’t see what the place looked like.

We managed to find alternative accommodation, thank goodness, because we could not have stayed the night here. I felt so bad for the young family unpacking into the villa next to us as we grabbed our bags to leave.

Management were pleasant and tried to offer us another room, but we felt that there was no point. If they felt that is was okay to offer this room to guests in the first place, then all rooms would be the same.

The receptionist, Amit, offered us a full refund, which we are now dealing with via Fly Buys.

This is a beautiful venue, in bad need of full renovation, which we could see is taking place. PLEASE stop offering these villas as accommodation until they have been renovated. $200 per night for a dirty, smelly, poorly lit room, with mouldy smelling bathroom is not okay. Good luck to anyone else who gets stuck here.

PS read my other reviews, I am not a negative person. Just telling it as it was.

We initially booked the 2 bedroom terrace for a 1-week stay and ended up extending our stay for a total of 3-weeks.
*Reception staff were lovely and accommodating.
*Rooms were clean and spacious
*Rooms had everything needed
*Service was fantastic
*The venue was meticulously cared for.
*We enjoyed use of the 2x swimming pools and tennis court.
*It's a lovely, quiet and Private setting; perfect for a peaceful and relaxing break (while only moments away from beaches, shops etc).
*Our room was clean (yes as some reviewers have said, there was a slight musky smell which is expected in an acreage setting; but with balconies and sliding doors on all levels; airing our terrace was quick and easy!)
*The Hotel at the venue was great .. all our meals were cooked perfectly!

Overall a really lovely stay; highly recommended.

Stayed for 2 nights with my family.

Check In was pleasant. Gentleman gave us a map and sent us on our merry way to navigate the hillside to our room. I recommend you not drive your car to the rooms in the dark. Area is super hilly and poorly lit. Trees and walls are definite hazards. Reversing into the carpark in anything bigger than a Kia Rio is going to be very very difficult.

Unfortunately after we negotiated the steep driveway upon exited our car we were met with a terrible smell. The outside garbage bin had not been emptied and whatever the previous guests left in there was certainly on the nose.

The rooms are unique. Read previous reviews to get a better understanding. The interior of the apartment doesn't have a roof over the bedrooms or into the tv area/kitchen. Trying to sleep while anyone is up is difficult. Light is impossible to keep out.

Rooms were not cleaned up to standard. Dust and dead spiders and insects littered the bathroom.

Location is fantastic. Very close to Terrigal and other beachy areas.

Overall 2.5 stars.

Great family atmosphere and good pub food. Very busy in the bistro/restaurant both times we visited but we were happily seated in the bar area for our meal and it was fine.
Staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating -such a refreshing approach these days.

Since the pub has been renovated. It has got a good Vibe about it. Apart from some of the locals getting abite loud in the pubic bar late in the afternoons. But that has always been the way.
But the food is good and every night of the week they have some sort of deal. Tuesday night is 2 fo 1, you cannot beat it.
The only down side is they should have more choices for Vegetarians and Vegans this is the fastest growing trend in the world currently and the smart eateries are getting on it sooner rather that latter.

Dear Copabananas, Thanks for taking the time to review our venue. We are very pleased to read that you enjoy your meals and dining experience at our venue. We are certainly aware of the growing trends and need to cater for those wanting vegan and vegetarian meal options and as such we are often offering a special (or two) on our daily specials board to accommodate. We shall also take this into account when designing our next menu. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to seeing you back again soon.

Hi Floyd, we have bistro style dinning available at our hotel for both lunch and dinner and our meals include pub style classic such as schnitzels and burgers but we also cater with vegetarian and gluten free options.
