Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was greeted by a lovely friendly lady at reception. Who directed us to our room. This is an older style but a very well maintained hotel. Our room was very clean with good linen and towels. Our room was fully serviced every day! Nice to return to. The Queen size bed was comfortable too.

It was surprising spacious out and around the motel rooms. Nice large gazebo and BBQ facilities. A nice clean pool and area, although a bit cold to actually have a swim. Parking for the room was very spacious which is good for the modern SUV sized vehicles.

Motel was clean and tidy, gardens nicely kept. My first opinion of the lady owner was not a good one. I went to ask for another towel as had come straight from work on the Gold Coast working as a Nurse. She rudely asked me what room I was in. I told her. She said rudely you already have two towels in your room. I said I would like to have a shower now. So I had dry ones for the morning. She went out the back and came back out with a towel for me. She actually nearly threw it at me.. So no, we won't be going back there to stay..

Spent the weekend in Ballina visiting a friend and decided to stay at Alstonville Settlers Motel. It was super clean, very comfortable and everything you need for a weekend away. They even made up the room the next day! Very impressive for a motel stay. Just want to reiterate how clean it was. Would definitely stay there again! Thanks Alstonville settlers!

We were warmly welcomed, room was very clean and the room was very quiet. A great place to stay. Great location, easy access to Alstonville, dined at the hotel in town which was very welcoming and prices were great.

Second visit to this place. Michelle the owner is easy going and very accommodating. I’ve stayed in Ballina a couple of times Settlers is much better. Away from the city centre but close to shops and places to eat. (The Indian restaurant was awful) Good sized rooms, shower is good, bed pretty comfy. Real milk, and soft drink with honesty box in the bar fridge is good. The internet tends to drop out a little if the place is full and everyone is using it. All my devices have internet so not a biggie for me. I have already booked my next 2 trips.

This is by far the best Motel in the Ballina & surrounds area. Michelle & Randal have been nothing but helpful & accommodating & along with the staff are the most wonderful people you will meet. Quiet, peaceful & extremely comfortable! I can’t recommend this patch of paradise enough. Such wonderful & caring people. This is my home away from home…….10/10 Thank you for everything you do. This motel was a very pleasant surprise. The room was spacey, well equipped with crockery and cutlery and the chilled wine glasses were a lovely touch. The bathroom was quite large for a motel room and the shower was awesome. Rooms were well insulated, so couldn’t hear guests in attached rooms. Would highly recommend😀
