Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was part of a group of anglers staying at the Adaminaby cottages (as the sign says) for 3 nights. The site is easy to find (just past the town of Adaminaby heading north) and well equipped with fire pits, covered dining areas and shelters outside each cabin to keep the frost and snow off the cars. I chose a room to myself (cabin 9) which was clean, cosy and well set up. Gas cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster and cups plates and cutlery. The electric fire warmed the room up quickly and the electric blanket and heat lamps in the bathroom were a nice touch and appreciated. The owner was very cheerful and keen to help so thanks and well done to her on her contributions to the weekend. By the way - if you are interested in fly fishing in the region I'd suggest you search out Josh Hutchins from the Aussie Fly Fisher and he'll sort you out with one of his guides who are all excellent.

We stayed in cabin 14 of the Alpine Cottages and can't wait to return. The facilities are great and you have everything you could need for your stay. The cabins are comfortable and cosy and the bbq and fire pits are great. We saw the clearest winter night sky ever and wandered around the grounds exploring all that nature has to offer. The location is great for spending the days skiing at Selwyn and picking up supplies in Adaminaby is a breeze. Laurie is a fantastic host and couldn't be more helpful. Such a pleasure.

Brilliant family spot. Beautifully clean and well equipped farm style accommodation. No internet or phone reception on the property (however we view this as a plus as it forces you to unwind and unplug with the kids). Brilliant cabins, only rated 3 stars rather than 5 as the bed was extremely hard which meant we didn't sleep well. If this was fixed I'd rate 5 stars!

We came down from Sydney for an easy snow holiday with three kids. Alpine Cottages was remote enough for peace and quiet but close enough to town for a quick trip to the shops. The cabin had everything we needed and it was very clean. Limited coverage and untreated water but no one cared. Woke up to 4inches of snow which we didn’t expect this low down. What an awesome way to spend a weekend away from the city! Hosts were very friendly and only a short drive to the ski resort. Would definitely go back again!!

Pleasant neat and tidy cottages in close drive to Selwyn snowfields and local town. Cottages warm and inviting with hosts very attentive to needs of guests. Farm style location with animals a plenty for the kids to gaze at including Roos. Would stay again and would be pleasant at any time of year.

Loved the cabins. We stayed in a One bedroom cabin, and we found it perfect for our needs. Comfortable quiet and well equipped. Close to Mount Selwyn - about a 40min drive. Great for families. Fire pit and bbq area fantastic. Very pleased. Only (small) negative was that the bed was a little hard but other than that - perfect.

We stayed 3 nights in a 3 bed cottage along with 4 other families for a snow weekend. Great location close to Mt Selwyn and plenty of room for the kids to play. Cottages were reasonably clean, beds seemed old and quite hard however had everything we needed for our stay.

Stayed in a one bedroom cottage with our grandson for three nights and found the facilities and proximity to the snowfields excellent. Cabin was well appointed with large kitchen, lounge and dining area. Good heating from the gas heater and warmed the beds with the electric blanket. 30mins drive to Selwyn which was a great place for the kids learning to ski. Friendly staff if you have any problems or need information. Very well priced. Hope to be back with all the grandchildren in the next two years.

We stayed here for two nights recently, as a base for a day at Selwyn Snowfields. The cottage served us well. Particularly, it was clean and warm. Overall, it was at least as good as we expected. The managers were friendly and helpful as well.
