We stayed 3 nights; 2 Adults and 3 teenagers, there was bedding enough for 4 teens.
Bed's were comfortable. Rooms were warm and clean.

We were skiing at Selwyn.

First impressions were good. Owner Graham and staff were very friendly and helpful.
Recreation room was excellent for the "kids" as they could go play pool or table tennis. I would have liked the pool cues to be fixed up they were missing the tips - but they got used anyway.

We took the dinner and breakfast package. Excellent value.
Dinner was always excellent - lots of hot delicious food and the full Breakfast is just what you need before you hit the slopes.

The meal ordering system is quite unique but we LOVED it. You order in the morning what you want at night - from a couple of choices for entree, main and dessert. At first we were intrigued by this system but the first night we could see the benefits. No sitting around fussing about what to eat, and after skiing all day you get very hungry and what you want is food, hot and delicious… and that's what you get at San Michele's.

Showers are important and our water was hot and plenty of it.

The cows in the paddock on the property lend to the farm feel. I loved it, and was right at home. The horse I met seemed pretty happy to let me pat him and brush him down. The view towards east was spectacular - I really wish I had had time to draw or paint it. So you don't have to go just to ski.

Adaminaby is nearby and a gorgeous little town worth visiting.

We would be happy to stay here again, and recommend it to anyone.

This was the third year running that we stayed at San Michele, we were so looking forward to going there and we were not at all disappointed! Graham gave us the same room and the same table in the restaurant...we are creatures of habit after all! The room was warm and very comfy, the breakfasts and dinners were delicious...so much so that my son was quite overwhelmed that not only does Graham (and his excellent team) run the place, he also cooks all the food! There's always a bit of good old fashioned banter if you're up for it (being English there is usually a sporting event to be discussed at breakfast!) and the pool table and table tennis in the games room was a hit with my son. Our four night stay was not enough but we hope to return next year!

We stayed at San Michele last year with two young children. We arrived for the ski season and had booked the reasonably priced fully catered package. Our room had been updated and was quite acceptable to us - double or queen size bed for us (I can't recall exactly) and bunks for the girls with electric blankets. Inside was modern decor, a small but adequate heater, TV and a clean ensuite shower/toilet area. The drying room large enough for all guests to put their ski gear in and there was a (coin operated) washing machine and dryer as well. The restaurant met all our needs. Some evening meals were cold on arrival due to the cold plates. However, on rebooking this year, I spoke with the owner who has told me they are looking into a solution. They have Wifi too, and I saw one or two parents working during the evenings, but it isn't free wifi. And there's a bar! But most importantly, the kids loved it! They loved everything about it, the location, the meals, the space. And if the kids are happy, we are stocked! And the prices are very reasonable too. More than adequate for us. We met other families there too who also said they came each year as it is very family friendly. If it works out for us again this year, I expect we will become regulars at the San Michele for the next few years while the kids are little and are learning to ski.

Wanted to stay close to the mountains so decided on this place. Didn't know it was really far from anything. Not that it was a problem but driving here after sunset is quite a challenge. Once of the main road another 10 mins in total darkness on dirt roads. Also there is no cellphone coverage in the area.

Hosts are welcoming and has a nice feel. Room was big but there is a slight draft at the window. Room can get cold but has electric blankets so not so bad. Bathroom was freezing though.

We have just enjoyed the 3 night dinner, bed and breakfast package at San Michele and have been looked after so well. We have to be very careful with dietary requirements, but Graham went above and beyond to consider our needs in each day's menu and we are so appreciative of the hospitality provided. It was wonderful to be able to enjoy a big day on the snow and then drive back down the mountain, knowing that a cosy fire and a delicious 3 course dinner was waiting for us. The food was beautiful and there was plenty of it. The kids enjoyed playing with other kids in the lounge while the adults warmed themselves by the fire and chatted over a glass of wine. The rooms were toasty warm and the beds were comfortable. The country setting was a nice change from the city and things like waking to the sound of cows, watching wallabies out the window while eating breakfast and being greeted in the car park by a very friendly, gentle-natured horse all added to the holiday memories. For Mt Selwyn accommodation where you don't have to bring linen, cook or wash up, you can't go past San Michele. You won't be cold and you won't be hungry.

We have stayed at San Michele Resort a few times and are going back again this year. The rooms are comfortable for families and there is plenty of space for the kids to run around as well as a games room. Close to Mt Selwyn snow fields. The staff are amazing, the breakfast, bed and dinner package saves time and the food is great. Fantastic value for money!!!!

Everything you would hope for, or expect from a snow side resort we received and a whole lot more.
Graeme and his team have covered every base from fully equipped rooms (warm heaters, lots of blankets and pillows etc, electric blankets too. Games room with snooker, table tennis for the kids, and a large lounge room with tv.
But the smaller details far exceeded the above.
Walking into the dining room every meal to be greeted by friendly owner, and lounges surrounding a warm fire place! Which is situated next to a full bar!! The owner is also a very talented cook, who I think should be renound for his Vol au vents, and another dish garlic prawns, but the best was a chicken korma curry with proper pupadums!!
I have been a chef for over 17 years, and can happily add (after staying in hotels all over the world, and dining in most of it's
eateries) that this food has credibility, and the service from this place out does most Sydney hotels. (I went back for 2nd's) The countryside outside windows is breathtaking. Kangaroos, an echidna, horses, sheep, and many more!
Scenic drive to Selwyn is less than 60k's (40mins) and a beautiful drive.

In regards to the feedback above about the guest being turned away for dinner, one can only add that I see it as a good thing a cook/chef does not want to have high food wastage due to cooking a full buffet for snooty Sydney types only to bin it at end of service..it is a bed and breakfast, in remote countryside.. THE CHEAP STAY PRICES REFLECT THIS!

EXCELLENT JOB GRAEME, WE WILL SEE YOU NEXT YEAR FOR SURE!! THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR WIFE FOR HAVING US ALL.

We stayed 2 nights with our 3 girls aged 6,9 and 10 in August 2012. We were extremely happy with everything for the reasonable price we paid. We found Graham and the staff extremely helpful, and friendly. The rooms and all areas were extremely well cleaned and maintained. We had two very good heaters and the rooms were lovely and warm. Our room was roomy and light and we had a magnificent view of the country side. It was really nice driving into the resort as the surrounding country side was so beautiful. We felt we were in a really peaceful location yet only 40 minutes or less to Selwyn. We ate our dinner there on our 2nd night and it was a lovely home cooked succulent roast. As a result of this fantastic stay we will definetly be back again to go to Selwyn and stay at such a fantastic resort.
