Good hotel for groups on a golf break .Golf course interesting and challenging enough for all levels of golfer..Hotel comfortable with nice spa friendly staff and good food . Good value for groups of golfers.
We booked a table for 7 people this week for an evening meal in the main restaurant. This hotel is excellent, the quality of the food in the restaurant is first class and far, far above the standard I’d usually expect to find in a hotel. All 7 guests rated the food a 5/5. I had Lobster as did another of the party - it was superb! It was generous in size and perfectly cooked - up there’s with the best Lobsters I’ve eaten in Cornwall. it’s also appropriate to say a few words on the wine list, which is varied and relatively extensive and on the whole sensibly priced. Great job to the whole Team and this occasion a special thanks goes to the Kitchen team.
I visit Cornwall twice a year and always have spa treatments, usually at the same spa. On this visit, my mother and I thought we would try somewhere different. We booked 2 hours, a full body massage and a 55 minute facial. I never received an arm massage, even though I had pointed out that was an area of concern for me as I am a massage therapist myself. The treatments should have lasted 1 hour and 50 minutes and they were cut about by 15 minutes. My facial was awful. All I could hear during the treatment was the sound of the product bottles crashing around every time she picked them up and put them down. Every time she turned in her chair to get a product, she pulled my hair with her. My head massage made me feel so tense because all I could hear was my hair rustling and no actual scalp massage. Also, all I could hear throughout the treatments was the other therapists at the reception desk outside the room. Very disappointed and unfortunately I won’t be returning as a result.…
A fantastic location, friendly and efficient staff, and great dining. One of the best hotels in Cornwall for certain. The golf course can also be used by hotel guests at no charge, and it is a lovely course.
Really lovely hotel in a wonderful location. Get a sea view room to make the most of the scenery. Staff obviously really enjoy their jobs and are very helpful. Hotel immaculate and room really comfortable. Only drawback was evening meals were too fancy and spoilt by excess of salt. Would be better to be simpler and better cooked. Otherwise a really memorable week.
