We both had sausage and mash which was more than acceptable as pub food and we stayed for a pub quiz which was good fun. The staff were very friendly and it is set in a very quiet location and only a short, albeit precipitous, walk from Mevagissey.

we stayed in the cottages just across the road, went for a meal, which was amazing, great portions, staff really friendly, only downfall, window where we sat had cobwebs, and the firepace, and large lantern above it need dusting, but will go back xx

Friendly welcome & friendly staff. Molly the house dog is also welcoming, being elderly & gentle! We chose this pub for 2 nights as it is dog friendly, ask Sharon when booking. We ate in the bar; husband had large fish & chips & I had a mushroom curry with poppadoms. But the best was the ice cream sundaes!! Fascinating...

Friendly local pub nothing more. We only saw one member of staff who was very friendly, pleasant, and helpful. Basic bar food available which was reasonably priced but nothing special. Lovely location on a sunny day for a drink outside. Main negative was there was a distinct doggie oudor which is fine if you are a dog lover.

Lovely old pub with views across the bay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was okay but not a lot of choice. My steak was okay and cooked well but seem to go cold quick. Nice place to eat outside on a sunny day watching the tide come in.

We have just returned from our 3 night stay at the rising sun inn. Before we arrived we were a little anxious as we had read a few of the previous reviews. When we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome & were helped by the landlady who showed us to our room and helped with our bags. First...

We only came here a couple of drinks after a long day walking. The staff and locals were very welcoming to us and our dog (who even got a little treat) The pub is in a beautiful setting and makes a nice alternative to the more commercial places in Mevagissey (its only a short walk between the two)

Great location and interesting olde world inside, has had a few owners over the years, the food at the moment is average at best, beers are good, it's not awful, you just get the feeling they don't love what they are doing .... Shame really as its a very pretty pub, may be we caught the on an off day,...
