Popped in for dinner in evening while staying in town. . Friendly staff . Food was lovely. Really large portions. I had the pie of the day, shortcrust bottom and puff pastry on top. Different, very nice, with veg and mash and a separate little pot of onion gravy. Really good price too. Would recommend. Seating outside also.

Whilst spending a week in Lostwithiel in August, we visited here twice. The food was excellent, fabulous service, very accommodating to our dog (who was fussed over by everyone!), great value for money. We liked it so much it was the only place we went back to twice.

My wife and I booked a two night stay at this lovely Cornish pub at very short notice and what a gem it was. The room was clean and spacious, the pub is full of character and the guys who run it are the perfect hosts. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. We ate...

Just visited The Royal Oak with husband and four teenagers for evening meal. This place is a stones throw from where we are staying on a weeks holiday in Lostwithiel. What a fantastic meal. From the moment we got out of the car in the car park to the offer of "can I take that case for you?", to the moment we left, the helpful and friendly owners and their staff made our 11th anniversay weekend one to remember. A good selection of home cooked food at breakfast (and the rest of the day)...

We normally pass through Lostwithiel on our way to Fowey, but this time we extended our holiday slightly and spent 2 nights here for our 10th anniversary before heading to Fowey for a week. On arrival, although it was late and they had finished serving food, the proprietors kindly arranged some food for us which was very welcomed. The following...

Stayed for one night on an unexpected trip to Cornwall and had done a last minute booking. I was very pleased with the friendliness of the staff and with our room and evening meal. That we had onsite parking and that there was no charge for our dog added to the excellent value reflected in our bill. Would I stay...

On a short camping trip we visited Lostwithiel and came upon the Royal Oak. The real ales were the pull.
