Lovely food. Had to wait a very long time for service unfortunately, nearly left without ordering a pudding due to wait. Too many dogs, nearly every other table had a dog. As stated food was very good but also pricey. Nice building, very cosy. Not many parking spaces, allowed to park in church car park if nothing going on at... More

The downstairs is cosy and the staff were very friendly. However our bedroom (up some incredibly steep, shallow stairs) was not very good. It was small with a tiny wardrobe, mainly taken up with an ironing board, and there was no cupboard. Actually there was no room for one. There was a black painted table that had the paint peeling... The Bull Inn is a very attractive "Olde Worlde" hotel/restaurant that is owned by Fullers Brewery, that is close to the Thames river. The dinner in the restaurant was very good - a warm & cosy atmosphere - lots of oak beams, perfect. However the bedroom (106) was another matter, it was in need of repairs & attention. Firstly the... Thank you very much for your recent review of our Hotel and Restaurant! We appreciate this honest feedback provided and are very glad to hear you enjoyed the food. It's a great shame that you found our Inn rooms to be considerably less up to scratch. One of the real difficulties with being in such an old building (14th century)... More

Had a really perfect one night stay. Our Superior Room was at the back of the hotel so was very quiet It's decor was quirky. We had a large comfortable sofa and a very comfortable bed. Our evening meal and breakfast was excellent. Great menu with knowledgable staff The Bull is a lovely old atmospheric place well worth a stay.

We stayed for 2 nights to attend a family function nearby. The pub is lovely. Traditional and inviting. We were disappointed with our room. Very small and cramped. Having booked months before, we would have hoped for one of the larger rooms. Very little hanging space for clothes, no drawers to store things. We ate supper in the pub the... More

The room I was in was incredibly noisy. It was gone midnight by the time the noise finally died down. You can literally hear conversations below you at the bar. The room I was in was small. The bathroom is tiny and needs modernising. The room is right over the bar. The floorboards creak like you have never heard before!... More

Thank you for your feedback here Londoner! We cannot stress enough how much we appreciate real, honest feedback. It is not without a sense of disappointment I write this review, because never is it enjoyable to know someone left unhappy. However, this building and the foundations it is built serve as both a blessing and a curse; We are not... More

The Bull is great - its NOT a 5* concrete box! - the rooms are creaky, some with sloping floors, all with character, and all with access to a great pub and restaurant below. I have stayed here several times now rather than stay in a box at Heathrow - Sonning is only a short hop so if you have... More

We have visit this establishment on a few occasions and each time have really enjoyed it. This visit was excellent as always, however just be vary if you order a big starter with a even bigger main. I like my food but this beat me.

After a three day return boating trip from reading to Marlow we had decided to visit the pub after recommendations. The food was great quality not your normal gastro pub meal much better quality. There was a lovely cosy atmosphere and was busy for early on a Sunday evening. Highly recommend a visit. A glass of wine was rather expensive... More

Booked a table for 4 the other day as I had family coming over from Germany and I thought I'd introduce them to the village. We walked across the river and came to the Bull!
