We stayed at the YHA nearby and ate here. Altogether there was something like 12 of us. The pub is quaint and is in a great location. On the down side I wouldn't call it a "gastro pub". 3 of us had the curry as it sounded nice and it came with a poppadum, mango chutney and a naan, I...

With low wooden beams throughout, this rambling old pub is full of fantastic character, tucked away near the old parish church and a few steps from the river Thames. We called in for lunch and were pleased by the excellent menu and a reasonably priced wine list. I had the wild boar and apple sausages with mashed potato and a...

Beautiful scenery and the best food. Would recommend a stay just for the breakfast. Floors and walls however are very thin, can hear everything. Not advisable for the light sleeper. A bit out of the way, but Marlow and Henley-on-Thames only a short drive away.

The Bull at Sonning is a typical olde English pub tucked away and off the beaten track. Parking can be tricky but we were lucky. The food as always did not disappoint and the cheesecake with salted caramel ice-cream was outstanding.

A superb stay , professional helpful staff, superb food and location and a beautiful old inn which was clean tidy and well organized . This overnight stay couldn't have been improved or bettered . Many thanks to all of the staff who made this possible .

We visited the Bull inn on a trip by river and stopping off just north of Sonning lock. A nice old pub, good selection of food and beers/ wines. We enjoyed it so much we stopped again on way back up-river.

These days Sonning on Thames maybe best well known for its celebrity inhabitants which amongst others include the Clooneys (when in the UK) and a certain very senior Conservative MP. However, this delightful south Oxfordshire hotel is an attraction in its own right and apart from limited parking (a village issue in general, rather than the pub itself) this a...

Lovely oldie pub next to a quaint church on the banks of the Thames. Very friendly couple who run it. Stayed there one night, very nice, lovely shower. Food is excellent, drinks are very expensive though, highly recommendable ,

Friendly service, superb accommodation, amazing setting. Made to feel very welcome. The dinner in the evening was good quality and very good value for money. The breakfast was of a similar high quality. The only minor complaint I had was that the rooms were very warm, though this wasn't helped by the especially warm weekend weather wise we had.

Stayed for one night for a nearby wedding. The double room was small, but acceptable for the price. The floor creaks with every step (to be expected in an old coach inn), so be warned if you want a quiet night. Pub had a good atmosphere and a beer garden out front. Service was slow as the place was busy,...
