My lunch was poor, my ham salad sandwich consisted of ham, lettuce and loads of sliced red union. The bread was cold as it had been kept in the fridge, everyone knows you don't keep bread in the fridge, the butter tasted rancid. When I complained to the waitress she was really shirty, arguing that I was wrong. Customer care...

I went here with a friend because I had an hour to spare waiting for a train in Stockport. Staff were helpful, food came pretty quickly. We had a nice meal that I thought was good value. The pub is clean and nicely done.

Our son and his new fiancee live nearby in Hazel grove. Both sets of parents stayed here as we were all meeting for the first time to celebrate. We had a really lovely and big room, remote wall mounted TV. Clock radio. All toiletries etc, and a picnic type breakfast to go left in the room, porridge, croissant, cereal bar,...

Me and my partner stayed here when we were watching the stone roses gig. The lady who was running it was very friendly and gave us a warm welcome and showed us to our room, the room was very spacious and had a victoriana feel. The lady advised that it was continental breakfast and they were already on the side...

If your looking for a local pub for grub in stockpot this place may suit. I've been here a few times for lunch and it has always been excellent. The food is traditional and reasonable on price...give it a try.

Booked on the day as original plans fell through. Great value for money, clean room, was allocated parking, the staff were wonderful when we had a problem. It's a great pub, no late night noise after last orders. Will definitely recommend.

The pictures of the room are great but that's where it stops. We should have turned back when we called the pub to inquire about parking and the lady at the other end put the phone down on us because the bar noise was too load. Payment is taken when you arrive, I assume this is because you would not...

Just come back form my fathers wake held here at the Red Bull and I have to say how pleased we all were with the food and service. Julie (the Landlady) made us all feel extremely welcome and served up a great spread of mixed sandwiches and loads of other bits and bobs which would have made any occasion feel...

Lovely welcome from friendly staff, great pub and the rooms were fantastic for the price. Very clean, plenty of tea, coffee and bathroom products. Breakfast in a bag, which was great as there was no need to rush in the morning. Will definitely stay there again.

“The landings are quite short and narrow, which is quite typical of such a lovely old pub building - however if you are a regular smoker then rooms 3 and 4 are the closest ones on the landing to the guest fire escape where table and chairs are provided on the flat roof space for smokers to sit and enjoy their cigarettes. If like me you are disabled but can still manage to climb a rather short though a little steep set of stairs without too much difficulty then you should be fine. And there is also access via a cobbled side alley to the back of the pub that avoids needing to use the first set of steps into the pub at the entrance around the front.”
