I had two half-pints here. There is a nice ambience in the dining room/bar for a quick drink. The room is quaint, and intimate, and I had arrived before the diners, around 6.15pm. Tables seemed to be reasonably spaced. Two beers were pulled by pleasant bar staff. A pleasant place for a quiet moment. I would go again.

We went for lunch at the Castle Inn following a walk around the village where the food and service was excellent (we all had the homemade beefburger) and would recommend to anyone. Cost of food and drinks was reasonable for the quality of the food.

What a place. The Inn is as charming as the village itself. A real authentic Inn with great character. The maitre d( possibly the owner) could not have been more helpful and efficient on a very busy lunch service. The service was quick and efficient although one small language problem caused a mistake on drinks which was quickly corrected. The...

I booked lunch here for Good Friday and seeing as it was most probably the hottest day of the year so far, the village was buzzing and the hotel full with people eating both inside and out. As my mother is disabled and parking is non existent almost in the village, the receptionist told us to park outside the front...

We stayed for 2 nights 20th-22nd march and we were in room 1 which had a nice view and decor with beams and a modern bathroom. My partner is 6ft 2in so had to avoid some of the lower ceilings in the building but you have to expect that in a 12th century building! The staff were very friendly and...

This really is a hidden gem. The hotel is beautiful. If you want the Hilton this is not for you. It is a very traditional, 'old world' hotel with original features- think roaring fire, beams, low ceilings, four poster beds etc. We were delighted when we arrived in Castle Combe; it is beautiful. The hotel is located right in the...

Went for dinner at Castle Inn restaurant last week. Not having been there for many months and hearing that there had been various staff changes we were looking forward to visiting. Politely shown to our table, right in front of a roaring fire. What a strange place to place guests. We're given plenty of time to choose and it came...

We have investigated the comments in this review and note as follows: 1. "Strange place to place guests". The couple you were dining with are regulars and booked this table specifically. It's a popular table, in front of the fire, especially in winter. 2. Food "...unpleasant to eat." As is our normal practise, the waiter (on this occasion the Duty...

Awful Stay !!!!! The Castle Inns owners certainly like customers recognise their status which make for a very uncomfortable and overbearing visit. Very expensive food & drinks. If you plan to visit Castle Combe please take my advice and eat at the White Heart. Asked not to stay in room 6. The neighbours who obviously have issues with this hotel...
