Making the most of the good weather, we went for a stroll along River Wharfe in Ilkley, and came across the Riverside Hotel. Seating in the outside terrace area was pleasant on a sunny day. Food prices are very reasonable, with a tasty and generous Sunday Lunch for £8,95, although £17,00 for a large glass of Savignon Blance, large glass...

Arrived at the so called "hotel" which can only be described as a B&B. At £92 per night for a double room and breakfast, one would have expected a reasonable standard. No mirror in the bedroom, no towel rail, no toilet roll holder or shower gel dispenser. The corridors had a repulsive smell of fat and there were holes in...

It's very hard to find a good honest traditional pub/restaurant that hasn't been "themed" to within an inch of it's life. The a Riverside is a gem on the side of the river Wharfe. It welcomes walkers and their dogs, families and locals. The food is always hearty and the staff are very attentive and friendly. There is a takeaway...

Nice family run hotel. Lots of smiles and plenty of help. We stayed for two nights. Apparently, we stayed in a room that is not yet refurbished, but it was good quality and perfectly acceptable. The mattress did need renewing though. Breakfast was very good. Altogether the hotel helped to make an excellent weekend.

I was scheduled to spend two nights at the Riverside Hotel in September 2016, just before walking the Dales Way. I ended up arriving in Ilkley much later than expected. Fortunately, the owners had hidden a key for me in a prearranged spot. After 50 hours of traveling (flying in from the states when British Airways computers went down), it...

I stayed for a couple of nights. A very warm welcome and the staff were very friendly. Maybe I should not have stayed when football was on in the bar. It was quite noisy at (1.00am) when some people were going to their rooms. My room was nice and warm, and had a lovely view of the river. If you...

My previous stay at the Riverside was in July 2011. My Review "At the Dales Way Trailhead" is still up and running! It is still true today that this easy to find hotel off the Skipton Road, alongside the River Wharfe, and close to the historic Old Bridge (no vehicles), is well placed for hikers both in terms of location,...
