I stayed in a small room for 2 people and it was $20 with private bathroom, AC, fan , tv with cable, and internet. It was surely not glamorous, but it was clean, it had privacy, and a comfortable bed to lay my head when I wasn't out having fun at the beach or at a party. They have Laundry... More

Now keep in mind. This ISN'T a 5 star hotel It is closer to 1 or 2 stars. The rooms are VERY small. The AC barely works. And the rooms have bunk beds. I do have to say San Juan Del Sur was one of my favorite towns to stay at in my journey thru Central America. It was a... More

But not for tourists. Made the mistake of getting referred to this place. Barracks style beds, bunks, no air, for a good part of the day, electricity was from a portable generator, not an uncommon occurrence. Checked out another place the next day and moved!

I went here because most of the Hostels around were full and we didn't want to walk and look For other places for 2 night stay. The airconditioning didn't work on our room eventhough we left it on while we're out and the bathroom is not clean. I will look somewhere else if I will go back to this beach... More

Hotel Joxi was far from the worst place I've ever stayed at while traveling...but it was a typical, worn down, backpacker joint that was centrally located in San Juan del Sur & a short walk to the beach. At the time we were traveling as a family of 3 with a young child so we rented the room with two... More

The staff is very friendly but the building and rooms awful. Didn't stay there but looked at rooms. No window, very small, with an awful odor in them. The house is small and dark the upper terrace/balcony crowded with people. Just couldn't get myself to even think about spending a night there.

We were travelling to SJ for the purpose of renewing our visa (we live in Costa Rica) and had booked into a hotel in SJ which had a swimming pool etc. Unfortunately I had my pocket picked at the border and had to look for cheaper accommodation! We bumped into a surf dude who said he was staying at Joxi... More

We went to this hotel because it was listed in Lonely Planet. Guess the author has not been there in some time. After staying there one wanted to check into a clinic for a complete physical. Avoid at all cost.

I stayed at this hotel a few years back and it was a dive. I heard that it was bought and had new owners and decided to try it and see if it was better. It was even worse!! The sheets that they had for the bed were frayed and had holes. One of the pillows had mold on the... More

We were dropped off at Hotel Joxi in San Juan del Sur by the taxi we took from the border of Costa Rica. We didn't like the look of the Joxi so we were told that there was a brand new hotel just opened that day by the same owners. We went there - it was at the end of... More
