Got to Maderas Village last week. It's definitely one of the most specieal and unique places I've ever been to. The vibes are amazing, the staff treat u like a family, the place is so beautiful, and the food is great!! Thanks for a beautiful vacation ❤

Stayed here for 2 nights and was left kinda underwhelmed. As other reviews have said, their social media game is very strong and they definitely have their "aesthetic" dialled. The American staff there that were running the place were reasonably helpful and the dining room and kitchen staff were top notch. The rooms were beautiful and there were a lot... More

In the rural part, you'll find a paradise. Expect no more than chilling, surfing, yoga and fun. But on holiday that's all you need. The drive down there can be a bit wild, but it's worth the travel! We stayed in a private cabin, there are no warm showers, but again that's something you will get used too!

I have been to Maderas three times, and I don't want to take anything away from the hardworking staff there. Everyone working there is doing the best, but under an ownership that could care less about anything than the almighty dollar, it's less than inspiring. It's located very close to a beach, but it's a dry, treacherous walk with steep... More

I stayed here on a girl's trip recently and have mixed feelings. Overall, the place was nice but it was EXTREMELY minimal. As in, they don't even give you a fresh towel and you literally only have a bath towel. No hand towel, washcloth, bath mat, etc. The huts themselves were really cool as were the hotel grounds. The actual... More

I've never traveled out of the country before my trip to Maderas Village. This was the perfect experience to dip my toe in the pool of international travel. Maderas Village is like an adult summer camp gently tucked in the jungle up a hill. It is a wonderful place to enjoy a retreat away from hustle and bustle. The owners/staff... More

I just came back from a really great week at Maderas Village. I went for a yoga retreat with Yoga with Adriene organized by Trip Tribe and returned refreshed and happy from my little vacay. After a long day of travelling, it was so nice to be welcomed by Bill, who was friendly and kind. Bill asked if he could... More

I had the best experience here. Dickie, one of the owners, is such a great guy and is doing a tremendous job with his staff - whom he personally trains and the hospitality reflects this. We did yoga in the big yoga room each morning, surfed, and had some great lunches and dinners with them. At night we'd chill in... More

The Maderas Village was exactly what my fiance and I needed after the hustle and bustle of getting married in Brooklyn. Arriving to Maderas felt like a bit of an adventure - with the 3 hour car ride from the airport but well worth the anticipation. My best advice to travelers hoping to stay here is - know what kind... I loved the staff of this establishment and had one of the best beach vacations of my life. I made friends that I genuinely still stay in touch with until today. The shuttle service was very helpful and as soon as me and my friend arrived we were greeted with food and drinks. The next day we went and hung... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are located at Maderas Beach, about 20 minutes outside of San Juan del Sur. We offer a three daily meals, either a la carte or as part of a pre-fixe menu. We are like a boutique hotel, but less pretentious. We love people who want a place to surf, read, debate, and do yoga daily; who want to lose themselves in a place, and find themselves in the people. We offer tailored packages for short-term guests and very reasonably priced rates for people planning to stay longer than 3 weeks. We are not in Lonely Planet or other guidebooks; we like having to be found. ... more   less
