We have now been guests at Lazy Jakes twice. The first time was a lucky turn of events that led us there; the second was because there was no where else in the area we'd rather be. I had vowed to avoid La Chocolata at all costs and wanted to stay in SJDS for that reason. Please know that the...

You can find other places near by for less and much more but Lazy Jakes is the best value for clean rooms to North American standards. Our host Rhonda took us to wood oven pizza in the jungle and we met tonnes of other travelers with a lot of stories! We will be staying here again at the end of...

If I ever go back to san juan del sur, I am just going to stay at Lazy Jakes. I did not care for the city at all. The beach was dirty and full of garbage, not to mention that this was the most expensive place we went to in Nicaragua. Just a little north of the city near maderas...

We stayed here years ago and this time the owner's of Lazy Jake's were not here! which is the reason we went back! this place was not running as a guesthouse at all during our stay BUT we rented it as a home rental instead with a full kitchen - we didn't even use it with all of the new...

If you are looking for a relaxed, clean, modern place to stay you have found the right place. Close to the beach and all the fun you are looking (short walk to a beach full of lively fun) but also gives you the option of chilled out relaxation. Had an amazing jungle feel right down to the monkeys in the...

Although I wasn't able to meet Jake and Lisa in person all the reviews were pretty much on par. Modern standards and walking distance to beaches. I'd recommend the place to a friend without hesitation.

Couldn't recommend...

Loved having 2 beaches within walking distance as well as some very good restaurents. San Juan is a short drive away if you want to experience the...

I am not normally organised enough to get around to writing reviews. But I had such a good time at Lazy Jakes I feel compelled to make an effort. You can probably guess at this stage that the name grabbed my attention.
