This was our first visit ever to a "bed and breakfast". What an excellent start. The house is located on the banks of the Monongahela River, several miles off the main through ways. We enjoyed breakfast with our host while barges silently slid between the green banks and a coal train crept up hill across the river. Some may not...

This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the river. Greensboro is an extremely quiet little place, just like the inn's motto says. We enjoyed biking around the area, canoeing, and sitting on the porch relaxing. Bill and Barbara gave us tips on what to do in the area and Bill has plenty of entertaining stories. We hope to...

We rented the entire Inn for 11 of us to celebrate my daughter's Ph.D. The Inn is a waterfront property in a very small residential town approximately 30 minutes from Morgantown. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the view of the Mon River was wonderful. We loved relaxing with cocktails (BYOB) on the wraparound porch. We had dinner on...

Every review below is accurate. Not much more to say but just want to confirm things are still great in Fall '13. Great room, terrific host, delicious dinner, and the setting can't be beat. You must like dogs, as he has two. He keeps them in the kitchen area for the most part but you know they are there. I...

This is a special place. We landed on the front porch with a picnic dinner and a bottle of wine and enjoyed a peaceful evening watching trains, boats, barges, and birds glide along a backlit Monongahela River. The fragrance of wild honeysuckle sweetened the air. The rooms were comfy. There is a well-stocked bar but we didn't partake. The breakfast...

we had a great stay: lovely and quiet room, a romantic dinner on the porch with a beautiful view of the Mon, and a tasty breakfast. The inn-keeper was friendly and helpful. We paddled there and back from Point Marion, which was fun. The town of Greensboro is very pretty and well-kept, and made for a very nice evening stroll....

We stayed at the Inn for her birthday last fall. The weekend provided perfect weather so we were able to really enjoy this B&B's full charm. Memorable feature: eating breakfasts on the porch overlooking the sprawling river. Beautiful! The structure is a magnificent old home. Fans of new, ultra-modern spaces with every modern convenience should look elsewhere. We went in...

Recently my husband and I celebrated out 40th wedding anniversary at the "The Captains Watch Inn." Not only was the stay enjoyable, and relaxing but informative. We live in Michigan and Pennsylvania has long been a favorite state for us to visit. Relaxing on the wrap around porch watching the river go by seemed to take us back in time...

My family and I stumbled upon the captain's 3 years ago on our way to my parent's house in Ohio, and it has become a yearly must-stop for us. The "Captain", Bill, is a warm, funny man who made us feel like the Inn was our own home. Needless to say, my kids love that, and always request to stay...

We chose for our anniversay getaway this quiet resort to rekindle the romance we seemed to have lost since we had children. What a great place! Old masculine Victorian but not shabby. Unusual and interesting antiques, a fireplace in every room and MOST important to me, a full bath in every guest room. This is not the case in many...
