First, the lodge is located in the semi ghost town of Granite, which is about 18 miles away from Sumpter. This is a lovely lodge that has been kept up well. It is not a cabin as one reviewer stated - it's a lodge with a number of rooms on two floors located on each side of the hallways. Each...

the lodge and personnel excided our expectations by far. The outside of the lodge is very rustic but don't let that sway your oppinion until you get inside. It is modern, clean, bright and very comfortable. Tony is very friendly , helpful, knowledgeable of the area and is attentive of your needs. the owner Pat whom I made the reservations...

The lodge is located in beautiful wallawa forest in eastern Oregon. Beautiful landscape all around, and plenty of outdoor activities in the area. The lodge is a bit old fashioned, but had the charm still. There is a community area that includes a game room downstairs with pool and table tennis, a small kitchenette, a sitting room upstairs and the...

We spent two nights at the lodge while we explored the surrounding area and had a wonderful time. The caretaker, Tony, has been at the lodge for only about three months and works very hard to ensure his guests' comfort and enjoyment. We stayed upstairs in the Owl's Perch, a cozy room with two beds, a couch, table with chairs...

We traveled here over Memorial Day weekend to visit the infamous Sumpter Flea Market, held each Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day weekend. It was our first time in this specific area of our state and we chose the Lodge at Granite for its charm, its proximity to the town of Sumpter without actually being in the chaos...

“The Bear Den has a full handicap bathroom but there is almost no counter space.”

“all where very clean, bright. Some rooms from couples some with 5 beds some with 4 beds some with 2 beds.”

“Some rooms are upstairs, so if you have issues with going up and down stairs, ask for a downstairs room. There is no cell coverage or television reception here, so if you really need to be that connected everyday, look elsewhere. But if you are looking to disconnect, do some great hikes, explore the local history, read your book, whatever, you'll be very happy here! We were!”
