7th stop on our Harley tour was in Sisters, Oregon. A beautiful stay at the fantastic Sisters Motor Lodge. Very quaint and comfortable, with just a short walk to the shops and restaurants. The individual apartments were superb and the grounds were fantastic. Great bonus with the deer arriving in the grounds. Would love to go back.
I took the Honeymoon Suite for one night, for the view, and was highly disappointed to have paid $254 USD for that room. It's one room, not a suite; the tiny fridge and tiny micro are in the closet. Bed was awful by my standard.... offered no support at all. Furnishings were old, not of good quality, and it was cluttered with kitschy cutesy things. The picture on the web underplays the apartment complex across the street, which figures more prominently in the view. A nice lady runs the place, but for my money it just didn't live up to the hype. The cross-ventilation and large balcony were very nice; tub/shower quite ugly, an old pink/brown, though the yellow shower curtain was cheery. A new hotel opened up on the north side of town, about half a mile away, and those rates, views, amenities present a much better bang for buck. Sorry, but I'm being quite honest here: my first impression was "honeymoon suite my foot." Maybe they should just rename the room and charge a lot less.…
Charming place with all we needed. Park in front of room. Walk a couple of blocks to town. A bit of main road, so peaceful. Rooms very clean and small. But our room #2 had an extra bedroom...so lots of space for our gear. Which is nice when riding a motorcycle. Small tv. But didn't watch.
Nice and clean. Nice and close to town (easy walk) Far enough away from the busy route 20. Nice grounds. By quirky I mean everything is available but a little peculiar. We had a fridge, but the microwave is in the common area. There is no ice machine but plenty of ice in bags in the common freezer. Instead of a coffee maker there was an electric kettle to boil water and those little packets of concentrated instant. The real hoot was the air conditioner in the bathroom window. It was a hot day so we had it cranked and laughed every time we had to brave the wind to get to the toilet.
Wonderful! Cascade mountain views, walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in Sisters. Although it's right in town, it has beautiful, peaceful gardens all around with places to sit. I would recommend this to those who appreciate a classic motel vibe and thoughtful homey touches.
