We really enjoyed our stay at the Mark Spencer. We had two rooms, both were spacious and nicely decorated; one had a little kitchenette. Comfy beds, and very quiet. The hotel is located close to plenty of shops and restaurants, and the trolley/tram thing is not too far away either; we found some great restaurants literally just around the corner....

Such nice comments coming all the way from Sydney! I will be sharing your kind words with my staff - and they love to share the cookies they bake! So happy to hear you liked them. If you ever find yourself in Portland again, we would love to have you as our guest. Safe travels, Pam

Previously stayed here& was disappointed in the Jr. Suite & room moved to. Received a complimentary room that was upgraded on our recent trip. WHAT A CHANGE. Great new large bed, bedding, etc.. A complete make-over. My wife fell in love with the bathroom tap & spout. We will be definitely be back now. Also love the coffee room. Also...

Thank you for the kind words and for the reference to the old and new rooms. It's such a beautiful change that merely stating the fact that we're renovating doesn't do justice to the rooms. I would be happy to share the specs on the bathroom fixtures with you - we love tjhem, too! We look forward to having you...

This hotel is in a great downtown location and has covered parking for an extra fee. It is minutes from the famous street food area, Powell's the huge book shop and endless attractions and bars/restaurants. Our room was spacious, it had a fridge, cooker, oven, tea and coffee making facilities and all the usual extras. They include tea/coffee and cookies...

It's no secret that Portland has the best food carts around and I hope you were able to narrow your choice down within a short period of time! Then strolling down to Powell's is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. We feel very fortunate to have both of these Portland icons only blocks away from our hotel. I hope...

We had a great time at this hotel, we were in one of the old suites and it was clean and comfortable. love the bed and the sheets. We saw our dogs name on the board when we came in so that was cute. Love the coffee machine they have. Staff were awesome, very friendly and helpful. Love the doorman,...

We spent two nights here after bidding on one of the opaque sites. Had we paid full price, we would have had to lower our rating. But, in fairness, Portland hotels seem to be relatively expensive. Much better deals can be had in larger cities such as San Diego and Los Angeles. The first room we were given was newly...

I'm happy to hear we were able to find a room that you enjoyed during your visit with us. I am a little stumped at the reference to one of our rooms previously being used as a storage room. All of our guestrooms have always been guestrooms and I would like to apologize if you were given the wrong information....

Stayed at the Mark Spencer Hotel for 2 nights in September. Staff was very accommodating and personable. There were no problems with our reservation and they even upgraded our room. Location was in the great Pearl District. Lots of restaurants and cafes in the area. Rooms are a little dated but very clean and comfortable. They are in the process...

Charming old hotel with new updates in a great central location. My mother and I spent two nights here and were very pleasantly surprised by our room. I think our room was partially updated, but not fully. The windows were brand new and stopped almost all noise. We could hear/feel a train/tram sometime once late in the evening and again...

So happy you enjoyed your room as it was not one of our newly renovated rooms. Just think what our new rooms must look like! I agree with you regarding the counter space in the bathroom. We all need more room for our toiletries. With that said, our new bathrooms have space for everything you need with a beautiful design...

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Mark Spencer. It is located in the center of the Pearl District which has great stores and restaurants and is within easy walking distance of downtown. Thank you for allowing us to be your host during your recent trip to Portland. Sometimes 2 days aren't quite enough time to fully see the city. This traditional hotel is superbly located and has attractive, pleasant rooms. Mine was quiet, my bed comfortable. I appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, although a microwave would seem more suitable than a stove for on-the-go travelers (altho I can sense management rolling their eyes thinking, "If we give them microwaves, they want stoves." A couple of areas to note. So far...
